I’m not trying to stir the pot, but what happens when Woll comes back? Are your goalie problems solved?
Woll is our guy, he’s done really well in the games he’s played and will be the starter going forward. Strong technical goalie who has the athleticism to make some big saves

If Samsonov can bounce back, he can be the 1B and lessen Woll’s workload. Otherwise it might be best to just waive him and let Jones backup

They can't tread water because Samsonov can't play, he isn't an option
You run with Jones primarily and give Sammy the odd game here or there

I do worry about how anybody's going to do if we don't fix the defense.

Can Montreal actually sell Montembault here.

3 years.. 3.15 torontos window..

We take back a contract and some draft capital.

If you want Primeau you will pay a premium, even though there are more “question marks”.

And I really don’t think Toronto feels comfortable taking Allen for 1.5 years unless the goal is to ride him instead of Montembault for 1.5 years and hope Woll develops behind Allen.

Even if woll develops behind Allen, your banking either way.

Does Toronto have much more of a choice?

Does Montreal believe they have a chance at the playoffs?

Can we swing a Defensman AND a goalie torontos way for draft capital and or a prospect for Laval with potential fitment in Montreal..

All these things and more at 6. Stay tuned .
Montreal isn't signing Montembeault just to trade him. They signed him to be their starter

A good place
If he plays the way he did before injury, yeah.

But I’d feel much, much better having someone else who can step into that top spot just in case.
Young goalies usually benefit from being a backup to a veteran goalie for a couple of years. It’s tough to give them the burden. Getting a solid vet was something the Leafs should have done a few years ago. And now it may be too late. They might destroy Woll if he’s the expected top goalie.

Toronto window for competing for a cup is currently closed, shut! There are way too many holes on defence on top of the goaltending that treliving does not have the cap space, assets and time to fix it to a cup contention team. You sell off any pending ufa at full retention like Bertuzzi and domi for whatever picks, take a step back. Next year the window remains closed with taveras $11 mil on the books add in matthews and nylander raises. 2025/26 is where the window opens back up

Please give me your sources.

Like how you edited your post. Also, ask anyone on here, if they aren't like you a biased viewer they will tell you he has little value. Goalies always have low value, and Primeau already has an underwhelming resume. This isn't some hot prospect we haven't seen yet or is trending up, he has been seen and is trending down. If Montreal could get premium asset or assets for him, he would have been gone yesterday.

We don't actually know that. He could well have been valued as a guy to keep from the start of the season.

And while his value can't be that huge, his recent starts have been pretty good, and I expect some teams would actively want him. This doesn't give him great value... but clearly more than earlier this season.

Only Habs fans will have such insane valuations to think a career .909 goalie in the AHL is worth a ton in the trade market.
One Habs fan. One.

I figure his value has gone from maybe a 5th with luck, to a fourth rounder (maybe late 3d?) thanks to some steady play.

You can't give Samsonov the Odd game, he can't play, his time as a Leaf needs to be done.

Woll is 25 and every time he has been asked to be the guy in Toronto so far, he has stepped up.

What will ruin him? The spotlight? He came in and looked great in the playoffs.

I am not sure I see the risk in playing him.

Hopefully, the Flyers start to show who they really are when the schedule get tougher, because they will get a king‘s ransom for Hart with all of these desperate teams.

For me he's a rebound machine, every goalie gives up rebounds but not like Woll does, Woll gives up A LOT.

Woll's also rather injury prone.

Injuries are a concern... Woll is in the middle of the pack for rebounds (right around Shesty and Swayman), so not concerned at all with that.

You sayin Philly’s schedule was easy so far?? Vegas 2, NJ 2, La 2, Colo, Car 3, Pit 2, Van, NYR, NYI 2, Nsh 2, Det 2.
2 trips out West. 5 back to back.

I believe Hart will stay. Didnt read any mind-blowing offer yet. You can have Petersen or Sandstrom.
