Greasy?![]()
How many times have you seen him laid out from a big hit? Very few. Yeah, I'm calling that greasy. It's a good thing.
Greasy?![]()
There was a hint of Marner critique so it was naturally of concern@ACC1224 what’s so funny do tell![]()
Come on man, you're reaching here. Marner is one of those greasy players who's almost impossible to hit. He's not panicking, he's following the system.
No one can deny hus talent, it’s his dedication that’s questionable, ditto for 34 and 88……..Marner can be a good player and also frequently guilty of pulling the chute going into the corner.
Yes, Nylander does not go for the 'hit', but rather goes for the puck. That's his style.
You said 'easy points', and also that you would 'reserve judgment on that line'. Just pointing out that his easy points (and Matty's goals) weren't from playing 'on that line', but rather on the PP.Huh? I just said marner was gonna get easy points tonight he did
His superstitions/routines as listed:
he has certainly earned yoursHe's all about the attention.
He certainly doesn't throw the puck away to avoid getting hit, like some other RW on the team.
Mostly agree except now the last two pages have a bunch of people whining about how Nylander is too soft and one-dimensional, so, lol.Hard to complain about this one, put the toxicity away for a night at least.
That isn’t what we refer to as greasy that’s where the confused lied I get what you mean now Marchand is more the greasy typeHow many times have you seen him laid out from a big hit? Very few. Yeah, I'm calling that greasy. It's a good thing.
Ok, we can disagree.Nah he's just trying to be fency over and over again even when coach asking to play a simplest game. Nylander is a free electron and i see a lot of Erik Karlsson ( with a better attitude in locker room) in Nylander, an incredible talent but only able to play the Nylander way and everyone need to adapt to Nylander style.
dump the puck and moving out the puck outside on your own zone whatever what when it's what coach asking is not to avoid hit but just doing what coach asking.
That's why only one of those 2 RW always be much trusted player of the coach whatever who he is... He just doing what coach had been asking and the other one just pretty unpredictable.
Marner camp is greasy for sure. I wouldn't mind re-signing marner as I have more free time fewer playoff games to watch you know what I mean?Greasy?![]()
Ok, we can disagree.
What I see as giving the puck away to avoid being hit, you see as following the coach's instructions to pass it to the other team.
Good thing there's no advantage in doing what the other team doesn't expect, right?
I'm getting pretty tired of FLA. Hoping that team drops to third and gets taken out in round one by Tampa Bay.
After about 30 years of irrelevance, they have a couple of SCF appearances in a row and win a Cup and now some of their fans talk as if they're the new Montreal Canadiens.
Can I just sit in my happy dream that Matty has been coasting all season in order to save his energy for the post season?
It's a nice dream ...
more slippery than greasy...marner that isThat isn’t what we refer to as greasy that’s where the confused lied I get what you mean now Marchand is more the greasy type
Wednesday will be a good test and the three games remaining against Tampa and Florida will probably decide the division.Based on the overreaction of “fans” demanding a complete tear down and bemoaning how “bleak” the Leafs future is, it seems impossible for the Leafs to be just two points out of first place in the division with a game in hand.
Everyone gets 12 games to adjust but he was having a bad year.Well........ One
Laughton
Certainly by throwing the puck away he minimizes the risk of him being hit, but I'm not sure it does the team much good.the thing is not about pass it to other team but minimizing the risk. If you just try high risk play and you're in trouble if missed unstead of save play and giving time to your team to replace themself. When Berube talking of playing less fency is about all those thing.
Doing thing opponnent doesn't expect could be fine, but doing thing your own team doesn't expect... It's an other thing.
Certainly by throwing the puck away he minimizes the risk of him being hit, but I'm not sure it does the team much good.
I did mention that the other day - Nylander seems to think so much faster than anyone else on the team, that he sometimes makes a play before his teammates are expecting it.
bro this dude is cooooookedEveryone gets 12 games to adjust but he was having a bad year.
That has happened exactly 0 times.I'm getting pretty tired of FLA. Hoping that team drops to third and gets taken out in round one by Tampa Bay.
After about 30 years of irrelevance, they have a couple of SCF appearances in a row and win a Cup and now some of their fans talk as if they're the new Montreal Canadiens.
Good option may be taking the hit to make the play. It frequently is, but Marner seems to avoid that option, which is the whole point. When you don't having good option, throwing puck away is not a bad play... You're better throw away and give a chance to your teammate at least to be able to try to fight for the puck than trying high risk play with higher chance to hurt your own team than the play really give something.
Nylander don't think faster, he's thinking a different way. It's pretty different and Like i said, Nylander playing one way, the Nylander way.
-That's why some player struggling to play with him
- That's why Matthews always asking to play with Marner and never with Nylander,
he's unpredictable and didn't follow any script but able to create something with nothing...he's pretty hard to know what he want to do ( for both of opponent and teammate) and nobody even a teammate like Matthews is able to know what he would try. It's a one man show when he's on the ice and why whatever with who hes playing, that's changing nothing ( a thing i said to you a lot of time but explain you in a different way).
Why Marner for me contrairly making people around him better and why Matthews want to play with... He's pretty easy to play with and he's predictable and yes for the other team too... but Marner having the ability to see the play 1 second sooner than anyone else on the ice so why he's still able to producing a pretty high rate despite it. He's the guy thinking faster than the rest of the team
Nylander = more skill
Marner = think faster
both having their own style and we will need both to do what they can do.
