Out on the front line, don't worry I'll be fine...

But to a point Stephen made a little while ago that I agree with: Robertson seemingly requires very fine-tuned circumstances in which to be successful. Outside of that he seems largely ineffective. Perhaps it's a function of time and maturation or Berube's system, but the larger sample size seems to say he's not going to be justified threatening with any large contract demands any time soon.

As always, happy to be convinced otherwise.

I'm glad he got another goal, and it was indeed a nice one. I have no ill will toward the player. I hope he succeeds, here or somewhere else.

My view is now is the true test of what we have. Ok he had a hot pre-season and then sucked. Now he had the puck fall in and we have a light schedule in December.

If he hasn't cemented himself by the end of the calendar year, our roster should be nearly back to healthy upfront. At that point, I wouldn't be shocked if he hits waivers if he fails to show he can at the very least run hot.

I think he will find better opportunities on another team at this point. He's just not clicking here for whatever reason

I love the kid.
I hope he goes on a heater and starts to gel with someone somehow.
I mean, he seems to really have improved his forecheck and puck retrieval game.
It may be that he’s doing too much of that….and spending less time getting into shooting lanes.
You’d think he’d be a natural on a line with 16 and 91.

Here's the thing with NRob. He's a worker, but there's nothing 'effective' there. I watch hockey intensely and intently. Every time the natural path for a proven NHL'er is to go left, my man goes right. Every time he should retreat, he forechecks. Everything he should pursue, he plays the middle!??! He's just all "work harder, not smarter" - and none of it is very effective.

I don't know if it's a lack of IQ, or he's all in his head - but it's one of the two or a mixture of both.

He definitely lacks hockey IQ.

He has speed, skill, and shooting but zero hockey IQ. He makes the worst decision, which is usually a shot at the goalie from anywhere when there's much better options open. Then, when he has a good chance to shoot, he decides to make a bad pass. He seems to make the bad decision more often than he makes good ones. If he could just do the opposite of what he's thinking, he'd have a lot more success.

It's unfortunate too because the skill is there. I remember when we played NJ this season while Robertson was trying to send a message to Keefe. He was splitting defenders like he was Mario Lemieux... and then the next game he goes back to making dumb decisions and taking bad shots.
