MacKinnon has 1 goal 5v5 this season in 433 minutes.

I'd say pull him from team Canada. What a scrub.
For all of the flak that Robertson receives, he has 15 even strength goals in his last 77 games in limited minutes, without having a consistent line. He can play. He might not be a perfect player, but It's just a fact that he's a useful top 9 player, and he draws a lot of penalties as well. It's going to be very hard to replace that type of production for less then 1 million. So unless we can find a 20-30 goal guy for cheap, Robertson is a perfectly fine 3rd line wing IMO.

Not taking anythign away from his accomplishments. But Kasperi Kapanen too scored 20 goals and vast majority of those were even strength goals. He never scored anything near that again

Drawing penalties cannot be factored in, you can't count on that on game to game basis. That's not really a metric to have a player on your roaster

ALso, he's not a 20-30 goal scorer. He scored 15 goals last year but a lot of people score 15 goals a year. Morgan Geeke scored 17 goals last year. He's not considered or will ever be considered a 20-30 goal scorer..... He's on pace for 8

A lot of players scored that amount of goals last year.... Last year isn't this year.

Replacing a 15 goal scorer who is one dimensional isn't actually very hard. Fraser Minten at this point will get around 8-13 goals with about 15 assists.

We dont' actually have to look outside for replacement.

Trying not to hate the kid, he needs to start producing without being one dimensional

Robertsons doesn't work for the team. On his ass all the time and will be a playoff flop. Just let him go.

With healthy bodies coming back he’s looking to be a healthy scratch but that may be good for him. With his physical size he just may not be an 82 game guy. Let him scratch and score.

The only reason he's still on this team is because of injuries. He will be gone once Domi/McMann are back.

I'd rather have Minten/Greb over him in the line up. Although Greb likely gets sent down over him. No way he takes Minten out of the lineup

He put immense pressure on himself when he asked for a trade. He delivered in pre season but has been a non factor in the regular season. At least he isn't playing poor when defending. If some of his early chances had gone it, confidence can be a dominoe effect.

I saw the same happen to Jose Bautista years ago when he demanded a massive amount of money in the offseason. He had a poor season in his "show me" year and never made near the same again in his last few years in the league.

There's no future for this kid. You can't be both the smallest and the dumbest guy on the ice and succeed in this league. Maybe if he had great vision or blazing speed or a knack for finding open ice there'd be something you could build on, but he has nothing. A heavy shot but can't find space to use it.

This season has been the worst case scenario for Robertson. Going from 14 goals and 27 points in 56 games last year to barely pacing for half of the amount of goals and no assists is truly terrible. What a fall off. If this team hadn’t been and wasn’t still injured to shit he’d be stapled to the press box.

Robertson has 2 goals in 223 minutes at 5v5, while Marner has 3 goals in 334 minutes at 5v5. Both sit at 0.54 G/60.

One is hailed as our lord and savior by some; the other is a bubble player.
Totally the same thing. Let’s just ignore that one of them is top 5 in league scoring and elite defensively and the other has zero assists and terrible defensively.
They are pretty much the same player

His best skill is his shot. Team needs to find a way for him to get to use it. Same with Matthews.

One guy has to come out tomorrow. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the guy who missed an assignment on the 1st goal, broke up his own rush by passing the puck back across the blue line, took a silly penalty right after, and was benched in the 3rd by the coach. It’s just a feeling I get that’s says he might not be in the lineup tomorrow.

Who’s coming back?

This guy continues to show he has 0 hockey IQ.

Starts the game beating the D and getting a quality scoring chance. You see his potential and think we should keep this guy. Then, he spends the rest of the game making dumb decisions costing the team the game.

First goal was on him. Made no effort to clear the puck. He loses the puck when he has possession near the blueline without clearing it more than any player I remember. Then he gets a 2 on 1 with Tavares and passes it to Tavares, not even a good pass at that, and immediately put himself offside. Then with the dumb penalties.

At this point even he has to realize Keefe wasn't the problem. This guy plays with zero hockey sense.

He’s close to being done with us. Sad we couldn’t sell high on him and get something back.

Also wouldn’t surprise me if he becomes a 20-30 goal guy at some point. Just won’t happen here

This pains me because I have to say hes one of the guys I really wanted to see break out.

Terrible game from him. I am off the Robinson train. I can't see the upside. He is getting worse too. The play dies with him always, he shoots the puck from anywhere and not thinking through his plays. I have seen beer league guys with a better hockey sense. He needs a reset, and its not on a team trying to win the cup "now". just like Lilly.
