Well that and our record with selecting 2-4 million dollar players has been terrible lately

The Leafs have seemingly done better with their last remaining dollars than their little $2-4 million acquisitions. Bunting, Giordano, Spezza, Samsonov at sub $2 million, vs Ritchie, Mrazek, Jarnkrok over that threshold.

It would be interesting to see what successful teams like Boston and Tampa get out of their 2 million dollar players

I mean they are paying Nick Foligno 4M and Mike Rielly 3M to not even play for their team so...

I agree we seem to have done very well with the discounts for whatever reason that mid tier guy we struggle with tho

Foligno has more points then every player on the leafs besides the big 4, Reilly and bunting.

And he was on waivers to start the year. Almost like good players can be bad sometimes. But let's ignore the lesson

He's played every one of their games. You're claim was that they were paying both Reilly and him not to play on the team when someone spoke about their cap breakdown

What's the lesson besides an attempt to justify Dubas's misappropriation of cap through an incorrect statement?

Only players that excel on a Keefe coached team are guys he plays 25 mins a night. Everyone else always seems confused and not confident...and now even the 25 min a night players seem to lack confidence too.

Of course this is da issue and has been since we signed 4 forwards for half of CAP .. surprising to me people just getting it now .. almost every other nhl lineup has much better balance except ours .. and guys don't want to come here unless they can use it to springboard to a good $$$ for themselves like Mik .. really we have no place for any guys like Bunting too .. he is gone next year guaranteed and will get 5M per somewhere else easy
Yup. I have been told time after time again that it has not been an issue but many of us know it is. You simply can’t build a winning team dumping 50% of the available cap on 4 similar forwards

I mean they are paying Nick Foligno 4M and Mike Rielly 3M to not even play for their team so...
Ouch but if it’s Boston we are talking about they are once again near the top of the league

Here's the NHL salary list. NHL Rankings
Thx

Hmmmmmmm it looks like Boston has a lot of players between 3 million and 6.5 million with 1 player at 9.5.
how can they be so good with no players Making 11-12 million.
maybe we could actually trade one or two of our expensive players and become a winning team……..others have done just that

To be fair they also basically gamed the cap with bergeron and krecji

I said Reilly isn't playing for them. I know FLogino is playing for them ffs

His defensive play has been pretty decent. Boring isn't necessarily bad, considering his heavy D zone usage

The issue is he clearly can't drive play offensively, nor can anyone else on the third line

So while I'd agree his play has been underwhelming as a whole, some of the criticisms are overly harsh considering his salary + expected role. If he was paired with a line driver he'd look much better.
