Would've been great to get him on that contract with more term. Treliving fixing the Hyman mistake by Dubas.

You want someone who I don't think has ever played a full season to be on a long-term contract? Interesting.

Our left side in the top six looks pretty good with Knies and Bertuzzi.

I'm not Domi's biggest fan, but he has pretty good hands and can distribute the puck. Might be a guy you can swap between the second and third line to give them a spark.

Plus Domi was solid in the playoffs for Dallas.

He would be a good addition if they can fit him in.

Someone explain the logic of one year from his perspective? Was it the number, we were higher, because he’s taking a big risk and it’s bizarre to do that given his age and UFA status to shore up his future.

I f***ing hate this guy but I’m going to forget about his past nonsense and start fresh.
It seems like a big risk/reward for him.

He put up 30 last year, he can easily top that if he stays healthy playing with Matthews/Marner or JT/ Willie, or whatever combo they use.

So as I said to all those that went nuts for not signing Accardi and Schenn, lets wait and see,Tree is being patient.

Those 2 or Bertuzzi for 5.5 because it was not going to be both.

Dubas would have done option A so thank goodness we have Tre and option B.

Time for me to tip the glass to Tre,and then another because Dubas is gone.

don't think they have the room for that unless they move out someone significant plus got to improve the D, only Klingberg can't be the answer

Pretty sure Bert and Tre will be asked that question.

I think he's looking to get 25-30 goals playing with Matthew's or Tavares.

Then cash in next year for 6.5 x 6
Yeah, for sure. I'm just surprised he would risk if it he had longer term offers, considering his injury history. Glad to benefit from his decision though.

Bert is betting on himself. He thinks playing with Matthews and Marner will bump his point totals and he’s probably right. Look at Bunting.
Yeah but Bunts was at 950K and his 2, 60 points seasons got him to 4.5m. I guess if Bert puts up 75 point, he could get up to 7.5x5,6,7?? Unless Willie is moved, he probably won't get much PP1 time.

The one year term is smart. Gives us loads of leverage with Willy. If he wants to get crazy with his price we give a chunk of his money to Bertuzzi and other positions of need and say goodbye. If he comes down to around 8.5 then we wish Bertuzzi a happy payday with another team (assuming he puts up the year he's capable of in our top 6).
