Is that not why I said Treliving would move Nylander? PLD was moved for 3 young roster players with NHL experience. You could probably get that same value plus futures for Nylander. As he’s a better player.

I meant there will be roster players coming back from Willie trade. And unless they are on ELC, they will be around 3mil per player. In reality if two 3mil players come back from Willie trade, the cap available is really 1mil.

I like that Tre went the 1 year deal route with his bigger signings. If they're mistakes, they're not mistakes for long and they don't impact the extensions of the star forwards.

Good stuff here! I like the signings approach of quality over quantity (Bertuzzi-top six F/W, Klingberg-top four D). Hoping for a nice reward to go with a couple of relatively low-risk signings. I'm just slightly baffled about the team signing Bertuzzi, Klingberg and Reaves with the latter amongst that trio being the one to receive the deal with term on it!

If we fail this year before the TDL he will probably garner alot of value back at the TDL.

Someone explain the logic of one year from his perspective? Was it the number, we were higher, because he’s taking a big risk and it’s bizarre to do that given his age and UFA status to shore up his future.

Matthews lead the league in hits for forwards the other year and lead in blocked shots last year. If healthy I think we can have a forechecking nightmare line.

Knies - Matthews - Bertuzzi. Forecheck hard and score in tight. All elite at it.

Nylander - Tavares - Marner. Marner will make JT and Willy score 40 goals again easily. Very skilled line can be used to trap teams on icings and stuff.

Robertson - Holmberg - McMann. Two high temp wingers with a defensive C. Try to get some depth scoring. An area to address at TDL

Lafferty - Kampf - Reaves Gritty kind of 4th line.
