I think Domi is playing hurt right now, I think if Matthews was healthy Domi would be out recovering.

But because Matthews is out they can't take Domi out because then their center depth is gutted.

Until Matthews is back Domi has to play.

We NEED Matthews back

He’s clearly struggling and hurting, but is playing through because AM is out. But he’s been so bad he should probably just gets whatever it is addressed.

They can't until Matthews is back

I think if he was seriously hurt they wouldn’t play him.

Domi's been a real disappointment so far. But it does sound like he's playing hurt. So not a panic yet.

I think they should just stick him on a line with Robertson until something starts to click for them both. If misery loves company, they they should be best friends right about now.

What do you mean? This is a 40-50 point guy, tops. I didn't see him racking up the points when Matthews was in.
There are a few who would disagree with you, I’m not one of them I was being disingenuous, sorry. There's been several posts stating how Domi plays better with Mathews than Marner, I can’t wait to hear as to why he didn’t.

I think Domi may be one of those guys that doesn't benefit as much from how Berube has the team playing. That said, putting him on Matthews' line seems like the most logical approach.

Treliving watched Domi play for a whole year, score nine goals, and still somehow concluded Domi deserved a raise and extension.

Now on pace this year for a whopping five goals. But despite being a cruddy hockey player Domi doesn't deserve to be hated on because of his contract. That should be directed towards the genius who signed him.

Here is a player who is comprehensively bad at hockey.

Yet for some reason recieved a healthy raise. Whoever thought this was a good idea has their head lodged somewhere tight and smelly. It's a $3.5 million waste on a lousy player.

Of course we were all told Domi was gonna help them win.

Berube will continue to play Domi to the level of his salary. The sad fact of the matter is the depth under him is even worse. But those players are only earning a fraction of what Domi makes.

It's a bad contract for a bad player and there really is no defending it.

11 points in the last 18 games.

You have the contract $ wrong.

Near 0.5PPG is in fact playing to the salary. What are your expectations for such a salary?

Domi's problems start and end by just moving his feet/staying engaged in the game. He's always been this way, there's a reason no team has given Domi term throughout his career until now.

He's a winger all day, and I think he'll come good in the playoffs, I personally would've kept Bertuzzi over him but I think Max was retained due to versatility.

He is on pace to score the same number of points last year. He typically averages 7 to 9 goals a season he is a 0.50 PPG player almost exclusively 5V5. He started last year at a similar pace and improved his performance in the second half and was a 0.50 PPG in the playoffs. He is flawed defensively and not physical at all except for some fights. He provides secondary scoring via his playmaking from the 3rd line and can fill in a center. Do I think he is perfect? Not even close. But people need to start realizing that skill players not playing 1PP and top 6 minutes but still are .50 PPG players have a lot of value even with all the defensive warts.
