Whenever the Leafs have one of those track meet-ish games like the Jets OT winner I feel like the razzle dazzle often turns into a slump. They start playing with that Harlem Globetrotter mentality and the next thing you know they’re embarrassing themselves defensively and need a full reboot. All the detail and work ethic evaporates from the big guns, Rielly starts thinking he’s prime Paul Coffey, Andersen gets exposed. There’s a Jekyll and Hyde personality profile with this team and this slump kind of has me worried we’re still in the same cycle as we’ve always been.

You mentioned the Matthews one timer VS CBJ in the play-in. Might have a point there.

That is correct. Sportsnet are the guys that put Strombo as host for HNIC. FYI the media part of Sportsnet is the only money loser. All the guys that made the deal for the hockey rights and took over production of HNIC are no longer with the organization.

Again we have seen this dysfunctional mix for a couple of years now.
We need some serious upgrades still on defence and certainly in net but the team cannot afford if. Instead they have to fill much of the roster with low paid low skilled players
