This honestly seems like what a fully oiled lineup looks like. Semyonov, Amadio, Brooks, is a solid center depth.

In a game that on paper we were supposed to get peppered....our guys played well. And Mrazek shut the door. Love it. GLG

It is just balancing the lines, I don't look at it as a demotion, I think Nylander has the ability to drive a line himself. He can still get 16+ a night, Keefe uses his players on other lines depending on deployment.

The D was rock solid but even then Mrazek was able to make a handful of point blank chances look like nothing.

This has been my lineup for a while now. Tavares and Nylander don't really need each other to be effective. Bunting/Ho-Sang are perfect linemates for Tavares. And Kerfoot has had chemistry with Nylander in the past. Kase and Spezza on the 4th line.

I didn't like it cause I want Kase higher up, but I think Ho-Sang with Tavares/Bunting could be a good fit, but I would still want Kase playing ~14, I think he and Nylander could relieve Ritchie/Ho-Sang for some minutes depending on where the faceoff is.

Limiting minutes for Spezza who is ancient and Kase who has a tendency to be injured is not bad thing.
Kase can easily move up the line up when he is healthy and scoring.
He can be swapped with Soup, who can play with Spezza and Kampf instead if need be.

Simmonds has not even played well enough to justify playing the majority of games. He is definitely not playing every game.

We had 9 players in that WJC. 6 on Team Canada alone. You forgot that Wellwood and Harrison were on Team Canada that year too.

I really think Mikheyev is going to get a look in the 1lw spot.

Is this because you feel like Marner and Matthews will get to the breakaway first before him.
I have always had that idea in the back of my mind. He has the speed to keep up with them and is pretty decent 2 way player. The only thing he really doesn't need to really do on that line is score. And we already know he can't score anyways.
I think Ritchie is getting that spot and its his to lose. So far Ritchie hasn't really impressed me. I expected more but I guess we have to see him with Matthews/Marner for a prolonged period of time to figure that out.

Ho-Sang, Bunting, and Dermott were the best Leafs. Liljegren & Sandin both impressed. So did Kral, Amadio, and Kase. Mostly everyone played fine except Simmonds and Gabriel, who suck, and Dahlstrom is bad, but got carried by Dermott.
