He's a fringe depth player and paid like one. His production and role are perfectly fine for what he's paid. What is difficult to understand? The fanbase just loves it's scapegoats. What the heck?
He scores 1 pre-season goal and he's no longer the Engvall we saw in the playoffs (or his career)?
Does this guy still post his drivel on the main boards? I blocked him a few years ago. The only poster on my blocked list. The Winter Soldier nee Interactif certainly expressed that quite often if I recall.
Agreed. Kerfoot and Holl included. If the coach was looking for "separation" tonight then he's straight out of luck. There's not a lot to choose between a bunch of these players.
None of them showed any sense of urgency. If they way calmness they're got that, for sure.

Islanders' fan now. They can do no wrong.Does this guy still post his drivel on the main boards? I blocked him a few years ago. The only poster on my blocked list.
how many emergency fill in 2Cs did better in the playoffs than Kerfoot last year?
Matthews has to get a little Sittler in him. Answer some challenges.
Need more than a part-timer to stand up for mates.

I think we signed him as an RFA to an offer sheet. And we signed him as a relatively high profile FA. UGH!

That is my recollection as well. That's how I remember it. Peter Zezel and Grant Marshall to Dallas IIRC.
you are very tolerantDoes this guy still post his drivel on the main boards? I blocked him a few years ago. The only poster on my blocked list.
I think he is a bit of a scapegoat, he has the tools and the size, but jut so inconsistent and almost lackadaisical sometimes . That's what drives the fans crazy. He's not a scapegoat, but he's not that good a hockey player either.
I think they will play Sandin over Lilly, because Sandin has the potential to be a Rielly replacement and they want to see what he can do. Otherwise, he would be in the AHL for another season of seasoning and Lilly would be in with Dermott as the 3rd pairing. They won't run with both Sandin and Lilly.I wouldn't say that, Sandin impressed again tonight. Played very well and should be knocking on the door to make the team. Question is are the Leafs willing to put up with the growing pains that comes with Sandin playing in the NHL. I think the plan should be having Sandin/Lilly as the 6th D rotating them in and out of the line up beside Dermot or Holl.
Forwards wise its a wash, you already know the majority of the forwards are, the 13th,14th forward spots are the only ones up for grabs at this point.
If Brooks doesn't catch on here then I hope he gets claimed and gets a good chance with another team.I really want to see Brooks be given an extended look.
He's looking promising and I could see a 40 point pace this year from him (he'll play 30-40 games at best case)

Waivers are for the benefit of the player, and I'm all for this player. I think he's earned a shot, here or elsewhere.
