Chabot on Team Canada is a terrifying proposition
*Amadio gets GWG*
Second star is Batherson with his 9 hits lol
*this* is the team Ottawa fans think can get a playoff spot in the best division in the NHL? Lmao
Yeah I think a CBC sports article today had Chabot as second or third pairing. Yikes.is that a real thing? Kinda scary
the turning point was wayne neutering batherson
He makes contact
Batherson already had 8 hits by the time Simmonds did anything. Sorry but that's a straight L for Simmonds. Should have shut that down way before Batherson thought he could hit Biega like that halfway through the 3rd.the turning point was wayne neutering batherson
This will never get old after a Leafs win against Ottawa

I agree the hits were okay but teams still know whose playing the body out there. For example Batherson rubbed out Ho Sang on the boards in the second. Hit Kerfoot shortly after that. Simmonds could easily give a face wash in the second and put an end to this early.the hits were ok until the last one, he was completely careless and almost brained biega
It's not about skill. It's about ability to play and Simmonds can't do that now.Probably not. But we've seen far too often that skill alone doesn't win you anything. You'd think we'd learn. Personally very excited to have a team with Ritchie, Bunting, Simmonds up front

50 minutes have gone by and he still has the confidence to run Biega so it's hard for me to give a passing grade. I do applaud him for sticking up for the hit on Biega though. I would just prefer if there's more fear to run our guys after more than 80% of the game has been played.
Never understood the Engvall hate. 6'5" centre/wing, one of the fastest straight line players on the team, PK's and paces for 10+ goals. Huge part of a shutdown line with Gauthier/Greening that the Marlies won the cup with. He's a late blooming 7th rounder and big guys take a while to grow into their frame.
Mikheyev is the better player today but IMO not by much and after his trade request, i'd move him for futures and open up room for the young bubble guys who have played well enough to earn spots.
I think you need to give Engvall one more year to see if he can take a step. There's a lot of untapped offensive potential if you use him right.
