Yesterday they get yelled at for a poor effort in practise, and they’ve just carried that over to tonight.

What is really strange, is that to a man, minus a few streaks here and there, every player is struggling to do what they normally do. Passes are constantly going astray. Outlets passes are being smashed into guys circling back. Drop passes are slightly underhit. Shots are being passed up in favour of throwing it into a group of players. The forwards are all 2nd to get to the boards.

It is really bizarre. Every single player looks off. There is an absolute void in leadership on this team. Tavares is doing us no favors. No one looks like they want to get things organized.

It's crazy.

There's a couple of possible explanations of why those things are happening, and being underpaid isn't one of them.

Heard a quote from a boxer that might apply....its harder to get out of bed early when your sleeping in silk sheets. I think it would be quite easy to not be quite as intense about things on the ice when you are generational rich already even if you think you are giving it everything.

Thats now 2 coaches they have stopped playing for him if true. Thats a player issue whether if it's true or not.

When you hear the same shit from your leader for a long time, it becomes noise, everyone does it, be it a hockey player or a burger flipper at McDonalds. Some times a new voice saying the same thing a different way works wonders. Every coach is going to tell you clog up the middle, keep the shots to the outside, support the puck, pressure the puck, give the puck carrier an outlet, short shifts, etc..,, same msg , different voice. Keefe is a good coach, his voice is stale.
