Babcock is a great coach but happens to also be a massive prick. He is old school in the way he approaches players and I think this generation of stars are much too delicate for that.

The frustration we feel watching this team was prob nothing compared to coaching them. They were never Babcock type players.

I've said all along, that Rielly needs a Defensive minded, physical guy to play with him.... Brodie isn't that. Brodie and Muzzin will make a wonderful pairing. Rielly needs a Manson/Weegar/Tanev type guy.... maybe Tanev is past his best before date... but he needed a different guy. Brodie should be better than this... but man, is this ugly. Even with all of the poor defensive zone play... 5 goals on 18 shots at one point... ouch, and I usually defend Andersen. Once again, Matthews and Marner haven't been good together at all.

I think in (some of) their minds they can just turn it on and turn it off on demand and win a game whenever the want. Having tried this for what, three seasons now, one would think this core group would know that is not a thing at the pro level.

Not stressing about it, still early days. I am just looking for a somewhat consistent effort... I mean these first 6 games are the pre-season I guess.
