Bigtime lurker here but thought I'd post to say I've been voting, as well as sharing to friends and coworkers.

Born and raised in Elliot Lake and while I haven't lived there in over 15 years, I still go up to visit family at least once a year.

Really hoping they win it :)
Thank-You so much!! I was actually born in Red Deer, Alberta but I have been in Elliot Lake for the past 21 years. I have family in both places. Big time Elliot Lake Vikings supporter! Jeremy Stevenson still comes back to visit and have brews at Dunlop haha

Numbers for the projected lines so far this season (havnt seen different so let me know if there are changes).

Bertuzzi/Matthews/Domi:
xGF%: 61.88
GF%: 49.90

McMann/Tavares/Nylander:
xGF%: 56.92
GF%: 71.04

Knies/Holmberg/Robertson:
xGF%: 61.16
GF%: 47.18

Dewar/Kampf/Reeves:
xGF%: 59.34
GF%: 100.00

Not a huge amount of TOI for these lines (especially the latter 2) but underlying numbers look pretty good.

Leafs losses to teams currently in the bottom third of the stands (L=regulation loss, OTL=OT/SO loss):

Buffalo (2L)
Pittsburgh (1L)
Ottawa (3L)
Columbus (2OTL)
Chicago (1L, 1OTL)
Only 3 points out of a possible 20 there.

Even going .500 there gets them to 98 pts. (1 back of Boston with 2 in hand for the division)

I'm sure the team from Buffalo will show up, but will the team from Toronto bother to make an appearance?

With a real team, they'd want to avenge that bad loss last game against this non-playoff team from Buffalo. However, is there any team pride at all?
Not a chance.

When do they EVER show up in Buffalo?

This is a decades old curse.

Actually It's not even a curse really. It's just a way of life. The way it is.

Play in Buffalo, and lose. They never win down there. It's one of life's mysteries. No explanation, it's just the way it is. End of story.

The way it has been for 50 years. Never going to change.

Why is it this way?

Maybe someone has the answer

I'll have to watch this one after my stupid business dinner. It's so inconsiderate to schedule them on a Saturday night.
Sabres played last night so we should push the pace and not let up. And no more injuries FFS!

Not only played last night, but Dahlin and Power both played over 27 minutes of ice time. The leafs should either see less of them, or what they do see of them you would think would be slightly less effective.

The Leafs actually had a six game winning streak in Buffalo when the Sabres were the expansion team in the first couple of years. Since then the Leafs have won just 28 times in 51 years in Buffalo.

That is a .254 all time winning percentage excluding the 6 game winning streak in 1970 and 71.
