It depends on how you define a bad team. If you define it as being in the bottom third of the league, then the Devils don't make the cut. And, in fact, as the 22nd place club, Buffalo is barely in the bottom third.
I think if you have more wins than losses (loset points a push) you arent a bad team

Matthews has more goals and far more points since Marner got injured than he did for 7 games before Marner got hurt.
His assists are up but I have no doubt that Matthews would be in the mid 60s in goals right now if Marner hadn't have been injured for the last few weeks. He's been stuck under 60 for a while. Even had to score an empty netter just to look like he wasn't slumping.

If we're being honest Marner being out probably cost Matthews a shot at 70 goals.

It really is why they are not competing forv1st overall.

A lot of points left on the table.

Now it is not like Fla, Bos etc win every game against the bottom third, but the Leafs have shot themselves in the foot a few times

So I was looking at Sabres seasons tickets, and a platinum equivalent center ice seat costs something like $4400 USD per season, which works out to $100+ USD per game.

Just seems to incredible to me that the best ticket in the house at a Sabres game is closer to the Toronto Marlies ($60 CAD) than Toronto Maple Leafs tickets ($795 CAD) on the glass.

Buffalo gonna play like its their stanley cup final at home. I expect a loss

To put it into perspective, I pay approximately $100 CDN per seat for 2nd last row.

I suppose. Do players really maintain that long of a memory? I always assume that players play a game and largely put it behind them. I can sort of see it lingering for a week or two, but that game was over 3 months ago.
And they've beat them since. That seems more like a fan thing

Tonight untill 5pm voting for www.krafthockeyville.ca is still open. The Canucks supported the BC finalist and The Flames did the same for Alberta. Please PLEASE Leafs fans vote for Elliot Lake.
We had our Civic Center demolished and our malls roof collapse. Now our arena is unusable and our Junior A team has to travel nearly an hour for "home" games.
I know this doesn't belong here but I didn't know where to put it and I was hoping Leafs fans would/could support our Ontario finalist.

He had 2 goals in the 7 games before Marner got hurt though. Not saying Marner doesn't help but rather that Matthews was already slumping long before, and now has been piling up points without him even if most are assists. There was also a 15 game stretch earlier in the season where Matthews had 15 goals without Marner.

Requires you to register for an account. No thanks. I tried.

Elliot Lake Ontario. Home of the Vikings.

Our community has lost so much and hockey holds this town together. We need our arena back desperately.
Be great if you could vote without registering.

So, the Leafs have lost 10 games (7L, 3OTL, -17 points) to teams in the bottom third of the league. Here are how the teams ahead of the Leafs are doing:

NY Rangers - 4L, 2OTL, -10 points
Dallas - 3L, 1OTL, -7 points
Carolina - 3L, 2OTL, -8 points
Boston - 5L, 5OTL, -15 points
Vancouver - 4L, 2OTL, -10 points
Colorado - 6L, 3OTL, -15 points
Florida - 3L, 1OTL, -7 points
Winnipeg - 5L, 3OTL, -13 points
Edmonton - 4L, 1OTL, -9 points

So, among the top 10 teams in the league, the Leafs have indeed left the most points on the table against bottom third teams followed closely by the Bruins and Avs.

Surprised how close the Bruins are. Thanks for putting that out.

Hoping the players will enjoy their wings and beer but concentrate more on not getting spanked again by the Sabres.

Bigtime lurker here but thought I'd post to say I've been voting, as well as sharing to friends and coworkers.

Born and raised in Elliot Lake and while I haven't lived there in over 15 years, I still go up to visit family at least once a year.

Really hoping they win it :)

I spent a week there one night.
