GDT: Leafs @ Sabres - 7pm - Can they avoid making it a dozen?

Hey Leafs fans, go out for some wings tonight, stay over-nite in a local, go to malls, Elmwood/Hertel strips tomorrow while your over for some Christmas gifts. We know your dollar is the lowest in 25 years, so hope you didn't spend all your loonies on the tickets!

What lasts longer, Adams as GM or the Trudeau government?

Gonna be close.

Trudeau gets to the new year seeing the postal strike ended, Adams gets until summer because...

Sabres have been outscored 47-29 in the 2nd period this year.

The Real 3 Stars:
3 Nylander
2 Domi
1 McMann

I'm not sure what happened to Quinn, but that was one of the worst games I've seen from someone receiving top-6 minutes. He wasn't just invisible, he was noticeably bad. If he were still waiver exempt I would say he should be playing in Rochester. Just woof.

He is 100% the worst player in the NHL. Belongs in the minors.

The lack of confidence from Granato's teams is back - they don't trust one another to play their position and cheat over leaving wide open spaces.

It's not the only issue, but it's a regular big one.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Drives me absolutely crazy watching this. Start cheating over like that and NHL playmakers are going to find the open space you just created and roast you. Good high school players know this stuff.

More concerning than another loss is that 6K continues to play like shit. Some correlation between the two no doubt..

The same thing that's happening to everyone else is happening to him too. He's being asked to do more than he can. He should probably be in more of a 1A/1B situation where Ruff is allowed to ride the hot hand in goal, and give him breaks periodically. Instead he's getting deployed like he's Shesterkin. And he's crumbling under the pressure.

Indeed. Unfortunately there's nobody in the organization capable of being that 1B.

Can we leave the politics elsewhere? If I wanted politics injected into everything I'd go to reddit or twitter. Team is bad enough by themselves. Don't need to be reminded of the current political climate as well.

I still don't get the call where UPL had his glove hit with a player's stick and the goal still counted.

UPL was in the crease when it happened and the goal still counted.
I know it wasn't reviewed but the ref was also staring at the Philly player sitting on our goalie who wasn't shoved into him in that game as well. Just another reason for Sabres fans not to show up when the opponents are given breaks constantly hell the other team can have 7 ******* guys on the ice in plain sight and they won't call it.

Would've been nice to pay a "Buffalo tax" on someone like Stolarz who can eat some starts, given that UPL had only ever played a starter's workload for half a season. Or even take a flier on someone like Blackwood. Yet Adams ended up with the ghost of James Reimer.

I mean Reimer has had 2 starts.. one awesome game and one that wasn't great.

Has come in relief of UPL twice and been good.

Sure, but he's 36 and only had 20 starts last year on a team whose other goalies were Alex Lyon and Ville Husso. He's pretty clearly just a backup at this point. Not someone who you can play in more of a 1A/1B situation, which is what I would have liked to see given UPL's limited starting experience.
