It’s possible, but those teams also play each other a lot more. The Atlantic wild card teams have to play Tampa, Florida and Boston 8 times.

I don’t think anyone is rational anymore.
-People are actually convinced that signing Hyman to the Andrew Ladd special was a good idea.
-That the 3 healthy games of foligno was a big part of our success.
-Bogo is an insurmountable loss but

-That tampa can lose gourde. Goodrow. Johnson.gourde and Coleman with no issues.

-boston can lose halak. Krecji. Rask. With no problems

- Florida who played in a 3 team division. Is automatically a juggernaut despite losing their top goalie last year.


Everyone is Better except Toronto. Every other teams old players will still be at the top of their game. Every player who had a career year will repeat. Every signing will work out for every other team.

like why be a fan?

Leafs have 3 top flight dmen, Panthers have 2.

Barkov/Huberdeau are close to Matthews/Marner, but Tavares/Nylander are much better than Reinhart/Duclair.

And the Panthers are going to need a 20yr old goalie to become an instant starter or 33yr old Bob to have a big comeback season to match the leafs in net.

Don’t forget Bogosian as well, and he was excellent (probably the best out of that group)

All the new leafs. All of them. Every single one of them are not elite players.

There is no way TOR is going to go through with all the proposed rosters.

This is the likely line combos:

Also looming is Morgan Rielly being traded. I love Rielly, but to let him be a (yet another) own rental will be a terrible thing to see. If you think Kyle can re-sign him and keep the 4 star players then guess again. Rielly will be getting paid next year and Kyle can't go there. He has to get a return for him now.

I can honestly say I don't remember ever seeing or at least noticing any of Ritchie, Kampf, Kase and Bunting playing against the Leafs.

You’re very optimistic. At some point, it’s about more than just lining up players and comparing them 1 to 1. How does the team perform as a whole? I just can see Toronto performing to their potential with Keefe on the bench. Florida, on the other hand…

I noticed Kase. When Anaheim played the Leafs, he often looked to be the most dangerous Duck.

Bunting never played against the Leafs as last season was his rookie season.

None of the others have played against the Leafs since 2019/2020 and all were in the Western conference.

They lose when it matters. When game-planning come into play, and coaching really matters, Keefe fails.

Maybe they’ll make the playoffs with no structure or accountability, since they are pretty talented.

I'd be shocked if anyone with a straight face could say if only we had Bunting, Ritchie, Kampf, Gabriel, Menell, Mrazek instead of Hyman, Foligno, Thornton, Galchenyuk, Bogosian, and Andersen we would have beaten Montreal last year and we are now better to go on a long playoff run with the new crew next year.

Not even if the Leafs had gone to the final 4 last year and then lost to TB, would I have thought some minor changes are around the edges like that of Bunting, Ritchie, Kampf, Gabriel would have made the difference between winning and losing then or now.

I did think after watching the playoffs last year and seeing how physical the play was and how punishing the hitting was that our Leafs would never survive in a series like that, so the new crew has added size and grit so that at least that aspect was addressed with the new additions and Simmonds and Muzzin. The Leafs will not be intimidate out of a series and has some serious push back ability now.

I don't know how that is going to impact the core 4 and if its going to get them to engage more once things get going physically, because its always going to come down to them to carry the team and their production and contributions.

The Leafs were the better team in the series, outplayed the Habs overall, and should have won.

The players you just mentioned that we have let go did nothing in the playoffs to help us win.

So they are a great regular season team. Nice record but it means squat.

Top guys have to be top guys, simple as that.

None of these players in or out make much difference. Mess like to put truth in his post and purposely keep out context and important facts.

And yet the Panthers have back to back cup wins and the Leafs chocked away another first round……..something doesn’t add up here
