It's Samsonov because he sucks the least out of all the other options we have.

That said, Keefe better not wait til we're down 3-0 in the series to try Woll. Give Sammy Game 1, if he shits the bed, you go with Woll for the next one and hope he doesn't let in the first shot of the game.

We already knew this was going to happen. We already knew Samsonov was a pos.

The fact that is wasn’t addressed should have everyone moron in this organization fired.

Couple weeks and this pos will be blown up

Woll has been bad since his injury.

People had unrealistic hopes for a guy with 25 games under his belt.
For sure, I just mean if Samsonov is bad in Game 1, I doubt they go with him again in Game 2, and Jones isn't really an option IMO. So Woll.

Dude no one is confident in anyone. This is what happens when you go scraping the barrel for decades straight. Every year we’re against a Vezina or 10+M goalie too. It’s painful.
Correct.

Don't worry, with our mountains of cap space, futures and flexible contracts, I'm sure we can easily find a high-quality goaltender.

Leafs Home Board
"Good teams are built from the goalie out, through strong defense ..... "

The Bruins have the NHL's 3rd best SV% .915 & 6th best GAA 2.70 vs. Leafs who have bottom 10 overall stats in #24 overall sv% .898 & #23 ranked GAA 3.18

Leafs Goaltending Strategy.

Game #1: Ilya Samsonov
Game #2: Joseph Woll
Game #3 Martin Jones
Game #4 Matt Murray

Game #5 (if required) Leafs goalie with the best result above (if none) then Dennis Hildeby. :sarcasm::sarcasm:

As someone that believes in the slogan above Leafs are in a HUGE disadvantage entering this series. Hard to imagine a team with bottom 10 goaltending could upset a team with some of the best as Leafs offense is going to have to outscore their known weakness in net, which is not a winning strategy long-term. IMO

As a realist I'm not very optimistic Leafs will be able to upset the Bruins with this level of goaltending. .. Keeping in mind Leafs likely starting goalie Samsonov earlier this year was so bad he was placed on NHL waivers to be sent to the AHL as NO NHL Team claimed him.

And who exactly was this big upgrade that we should have got?

Well Samsonov sits at the very bottom of the nhl is most goalie categories….. soooo… anyone else really. Real easy spot to upgrade. We didn’t and it will cost us.

How is it easy? NJ tried and couldn't get anything. Put a name out there, who should we have got and why would that team trade them to us? And for what? Our 1st? Cowan?

He was also one of the hottest goalies in the league in the last what, 25 games?

Again, who is the guy that we could've had that could take us to the cup?

They are screwed no matter how you slice it. The goaltending will cost them the series.

Selena would never play here. Far too much bad blood with Matthews’ bestie.

I did a similar poll a few weeks back outside of the safety of the Leafs forum, and the results were pretty evenly split between Woll and Samsonov. A couple strays for Murray.

dream probably dead.

EDIT

Neither goal was on Jones.

#1 Brodie not covering the front of the net.
#2 Benoit with bad bad pinch. Odd man rush.
So both goals in the first were on Keefe? One for playing Brodie when he damned well knows he shouldn't be and one for having defencemen pinch who should not be f***ing pinching?

That's the thing, isn't it? A bunch of "experts" said the Leafs should have gotten a goalie, but they can't name anyone who was a) available and b) actually possible to acquire (just to shut up the inevitable "Allen" idiots who seriously think Montreal would trade with the Leafs period).
