I do find it odd how Matthews is completely immune to criticism on this board while people in this thread have literally called for Marner to get injured and mocked him for blocking a shot.

Our first line has been garbage.. they also only scored when Jarnkrok replaced Marner

This is the first year he looks like he deserves more than Marner and he has more EVTOI than him... What other year was he better?

Just want to point out I was never talking about ice time or whose better. I was simply talking about "rope" for JT-Nylander. Their room for error is not the same as marner-matthews and I think they weren't allowed to grow properly together in the past. As soon as a hurdle arose, they are broken up instead of allowed to battle through it together.

This season doesn't even prove anything, as Nylander-JT have been near perfect. I hope when a cold streak comes, Keefe leaves the line alone and allows them to figure it out.

And I'm not saying there's a sinister reason, it's just an observation (for those who have nothing to add to the convo besides petty comments)
