Like I said, I think it will be a blowout. Pittsburgh is just a very mediocre team. Maybe Dubas had instructions to ride out this core for as long as he could, but absorbing EK's salary will end up handcuffing that team for years.

EK has been their best player this year according to Pens fans from what I've seen...

I think that trade was actually really good for the Pens.

Marner had his wedding this summer so I doubt he put in the work

Matthews I am 100% positive after winning the Hart and Rocket took it easy so he wasn't as effective last season; I am not sure if he put in the work in teh summer. Apparently he and knies were skating in the summer together in arizona

IMO the odd man out is Marner on that line. Until marner figures it out Matthews and Marner should be broken up IMO

Everything about Matthews from a physical POV looks fine. He's just hesitating to take the play into traffic.

Matthews played like 50% with Nylander and 50% with Marner last year...

Their line is not playing great this year, but most other lines are, so maybe they are trying to let that line figure it out since switching up that line involves switching up another...

I don't understand your point. I made a simple observation that Nylander -JT don't get the same leash matthews-marner do. This is true if you've followed the team for the last 4 years. Nylander and JTs room for error was slim when they were trying to establish chemistry.

If Nylander and JT even dare have 1 bad period they're done as a duo for the season. Keefe is more biased with matthews-marner. They have infinite games to figure it out.

I think it’s mostly that they don’t want to break up their Nylander, Tavares, and Bertuzzi right now.
It’s the same as a couple years ago when Nylander and Tavares really weren’t working but Matthews and Marner were on a tear together.

Our team should not be reliant on 1 player, where injuries happen all the time.
