Based on the Leafs history over the last few years, they'll beat Pittsburgh and lose to the Islanders.

The definition of the Leafs over the years, especially in years previous where we needed big win to stay in the playoff race..We would go in and beat Boston or Montreal or Pittsburgh, our hopes would be sky high, fans would call in to radio stations and start getting their hopes up...next game at home against a team like the Islanders or Florida and we'd either get shelled or lose a heart breaker.

What a god awful move to have Reimer start against the best team in hockey after not playing hockey for an eternity

Awful management.

When we get smoked tonight management should be blamed 100% for this pitiful decision.

Hope im wrong obviously, but i wont be

No reason to think this is a winnable game no matter who's in net.

Glad to see Franson back in the lineup. Don't understand why he struggles to solidify his role as a regular on the team. He's a solid defenseman, and Holzer or Fraser most certainly don't deserve a spot over him.

unless you happen to have a goalie that can steal a game for you.. ala Miller last game.
with our just barely "NHL capable" goalies, I give us a 2% chance of winning tonight.

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets

Expected pairings : kostka-dion. Liles-franson. Fraser and gunnarson. #tmltalk

was really hoping Gardiner was back in tonight...

David Alter @DavidAlter590
Carlyle says they have yet to make a decision on Gardiner's Status for tonight.

This is their way of saying Scrivens is now the #1.

Yeah, remember that time we had a home & home against Pittsburgh last season? What happened? Oh yeah, we left with 3 out of a possible 4 points.

Up 4-1 in Pittsburgh, and if not for that crazy comeback would've had the two points. The following day, who was it that got completely shutdown by Phaneuf and Gunnarsson? Oh yeah, that guy Malkin. And who got the shutout? I think it was Reimer.

Regardless, fans like you have such a pathetic attitude it's ridiculous. Why even be a fan of the team if you have an attitude like this?

Carlyle is out of his mind. Fraser in for Komisarek? MacArthur plays terribly and he's promoted? Your starting goalie won't start against the stronger team in a back-to-back? oy...

This game could be the one like last season where the Leafs blew the lead and ended up losing something like 6-5 in shootout. I still remember that goal Malkin scored to tie the game in the dying seconds of regulation. If i recall correctly that game was also the turning point of the season when the 18 wheeler began its route off the cliff

Didn't the puck bounce in off Malkin? Man was that game ever brutal.

You can be a fan and be realistic.

yeah these decisions are absolutely circus like.

If Gardiner is ready to go and says hes 100%, you put him in. He is really needed aswell. Not to mention these changes to the lines.... Why does Mac get promoted when he hasnt done anything?

I don't think we're going to see a lot of those type of games with Carlyle as coach. Ron Wilson was a bafoon who was all about run and gun without a care in the world for team defence.

Macarthur looked good against Buffalo.

Shuffling the lines isn't necessarily a promotion/demotion.

Yes Reims did get a Shut Out

Post of the day.

What promotion? Kessel's line is no defacto #1. Only people that haven't played hockey refer to lines as #1, #2, hierarchy. Carlyle is mixing it up to stimulate some offense.

We are showcasing defencemen. It shouldn't be too hard to understand. If we send Fraser to AHL, he has to go to waivers and WILL be claimed for nothing. There are other motives than just plain winning. And Komisarek doesn't increase our likelihood of that either. And Fraser brings an element of toughness on the blueline that we don't have.

Why do you guys keep saying Mac was promoted? It seems more like a matter of circumstance rather than a promotion.

Glad to see Franson back in the line up. Surprised Komisarek is sitting again and Fraser is in his place.

I dont mind reims but to just put him in against pitt's is a little odd.. I expect the grabo line to shutdown malkin tnite

Interesting Siegel tweets for tonight

Jonas Siegel‏@jonasTSN1050

As @markhmasters notes, MacArthur moved to line with Bozak and Kessel. Lupul shifts to Kadri/Komarov unit.

Jonas Siegel‏@jonasTSN1050

Oddly enough, Grabovski has yet to register a shot in two games this season.

Carlyle also had a chat with Grabovski on the ice this morning. Has asked him to play with greater tenacity

This. I just saw lines and wth??? Looks like he's throwing 'everything' til something sticks. The MacA move is bizarre... confidence booster?

I dunno, it is early but I have a sense that this team is kinda lost right now??

No that is not how it works. You clearly haven't played any team sport, let alone hockey. Players always say they are ready to go.

How was McArthur promoted? Just because he is playing with Kessel doesn't mean he is on line #1. Those are numbers you give them. That isn't how it works in the dressing room.
