Panther fan coming in peace, woke up early and don't have to go to work yet. Ekblad & Hornqvist are the only two regulars out. Nutivaara hasn't played a game for what seems like 2 years now and Acciari is swapped in and out of the roster accordingly.

Spencer Knight could be trouble. He is like a poor man's version of Thatcher Demko... If starts - Bobrovsky - we probably win though

Shallgren will have his work cut out for him but i think he will do great - he is a much better goalie than Mrazek - much more calm and not sliding all over the place

2 of the hottest teams in the league - might go to OT

I start Jack.

This I don't understand. He's just back from injury, getting back to game shape.. and you want to play him back to back, and risk another injury, as we head into the playoffs. I get wanting to win this game, but it's far more important to have Jack healthy in the playoffs, otherwise you are going in with Kallgren as your starter. A guy just getting back to playing, shouldn't risk playing a back to back.

It's too bad Muzz can't play right side, he'd practically be a significant & hugely upgraded Lyubushkin to Rielly while keeping Brodie-Holl & Gio-Lily.

I'm guessing:

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Liljegren
Muzzin-Holl

Holl's playing well again, if Muzz-Holl somehow return to form with easier usage then this D group looks dynamite.
This seems like the obvious choice, even though the Muzzin-Holl pairing has struggled this year they have the track record together. Also with these pairs you can spread out the tough matchup, Gio-Lily has handled it well, Rielly-Brodie is capable of handling it as well.

That pairing should not be touched for the foreseeable future. Rotate Holl and Boosh in and out of the lineup. Do the right thing Keefe.

I don't think even Keefe is dumb enough to sit Liljegren after the way he's been playing. Agreed that Holl should sit first and maybe swap out for Boosh depending on how the D's playing.

When Sandin comes back he will likely be gifted a spot in the lineup over Liljegren, because Keefe has a stiffy for Sandin

Was surprised to see this:

#1C Point vs Toronto D

1. Gio 6:49, 33.4xgf%
2. Lilly 6:18, 27.7xgf%

3. Brodie 4:49, 44.7xgf%
4. Holl 4:25, 41.1xgf%

5. Rielly 3:49, 64.2xgf%
6. Boosh 2:49, 75.6xgf%

So it was actually the Gio-Lilly pair that had the bulk of the top line matchup....and they crushed it, dominating TB's 1st line.

Meanwhile Mo-Boosh were sheltered away from that matchup as much as possible, and good thing they were because they got crushed by it.

It'll be very interesting to see which D comes out for Muzz tomorrow. For me there's only one choice but I'm worried Keefe won't make it.
Boosh? Seems like the weak link. I'd go Rielly with Brodie, Gio with Lilly, and Muzzin with Holl as a sheltered 3rd pair.
Boosh I might put in against a hard physical team, but not the Florida Kitties.

Keefe is an NHL coach ergo even if he does a lot of things right, he will do some blazingly stupid annoying things for very bad reasons ie go with experience!!!! even a bad experience apparently.

A rib injury isn't a chronic condition.

I'd rather be in a wildcard spot if it means a less fatigued Soup.

I'm definitely in favor of keeping him fresh & feeling good going into the playoffs rather than play him on a b2b in hopes of climbing the standings. Big picture I just don't think it's worth it & it's unwise given his time off.

Gio/Lilly
Muzz/Brodie
Reilly/Boosh

Boosh and Brodie are the only guys that have played well with Reilly.

These pairings give every pair a mover and a guy who can shut down.
They're balanced and even.

You got 2 potential shut down lines, and I'd say Reilly/Boosh actually become your sheltered line.
Or at least this is what I'd run on the road

load management. i would rather lose a regular season game than 1 playoff game bc we overworked a recovering soupy

agreed.

I was never a fan of playing a goalie on back to back nights, specially when the game is somewhat meaningless. Yes positioning is at stake, but either way were going to have a tough 1st round opponent so whatever.

Would suck if they take Boosh out because Rielly fell asleep last night. Boosh was the only reason they didn't get lit up with goals from being the worst pairing. We need what he brings in the lineup. Imagine Holl against Boosh in the playoffs. Holl would be on his ass.

You also have to consider that it wasn't a cake walk of a game against Tampa.

Easy decision to give Kallgren the next game.

Great game last night, but it's a new day and don't want to hear excuses about a b2b and potentially using our backup goalie against the Cats who will be hungry.

CAR 3-2W
FLA 5-2W
BOS 6-4W
TB 6-2W
FLA xxxx

Just win.

I was at the Panthers game and can confirm Panthers were more hesitant when Boosh was on the ice. I can't see Keefe taking him out. It's exactly what he wish he had pre-Boosh. Without even checking the stats I would bet he had over 5 hits for sure. His physicality and it's impact was very noticeable. Lots of praise from the crowd around me for it as well.

Boosh and Gio add what we were missing on the blue line. For the first time in a long time I can say our D is perfectly balanced. I guess it could use a rocket from the point but it's very well structured now that I can live without it. Lil looks like he's working on a bomb anyways so we'll see.
