Was surprised to see this:

#1C Point vs Toronto D

1. Gio 6:49, 33.4xgf%
2. Lilly 6:18, 27.7xgf%

3. Brodie 4:49, 44.7xgf%
4. Holl 4:25, 41.1xgf%

5. Rielly 3:49, 64.2xgf%
6. Boosh 2:49, 75.6xgf%

So it was actually the Gio-Lilly pair that had the bulk of the top line matchup....and they crushed it, dominating TB's 1st line.

Meanwhile Mo-Boosh were sheltered away from that matchup as much as possible, and good thing they were because they got crushed by it.

It'll be very interesting to see which D comes out for Muzz tomorrow. For me there's only one choice but I'm worried Keefe won't make it.

also the PK time last night:

1. Liljegren 2:11
2. Holl 1:48
3. Brodie 1:42
4. Giordano 1:06
5. Lyubushkin 1:06
6. Rielly 0:07

We should start practicing with 7D. Kerfoot/Mikheyev can alternate between playing on the 4th.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner

Mikheyev - Tavares - Nylander

Kerfoot - Kampf - Engvall

Spezza, Blackwell/Simmonds/Clifford

Gio - Liljegren

Rielly - Boosh

Brodie - Muzzin

Holl

While I love Boosh, to me I'm hoping to see this tonight:

Reilly-Brodie
Gio-Lily
Muzzin-Holl

Lets see if the magic of Muzzin-Holl from years past starts to re-ignite. If so, I see Boosh as the odd one out. To me they should be rotating Muzzin, Holl & Boosh depending on who plays best. Lily has been a beast, especially with Gio.

The East is so ridiculously stacked. Tampa Bay has 93 points and is in a wild card spot. They'd be 2nd in the central or 1st in the Pacific. Any of the top 7 teams can realistically make the cup final, I don't think I have ever seen a conference as strong as this in all my years of watching hockey. I see no reason why we can't take both points here tonight. The boys have been playing extremely well and had a phenomenal showing last time against Florida. Obviously Kallgren in net but with how well the guys have been playing, I feel confident in this group against anyone.

4 of the top 6 teams in hockey are in the Atlantic.

Insanity. Divisional playoffs need to go, go back to 1-8 seeding. We have what should be the conference final happening in the 1st round.
It wouldn't make much difference though, Divisional we are currently matched up with Boston (tied in points with Tampa but holding the tiebreaker), if it was by conference we would be matched up with Tampa.

3 to 7 in the conference are incredibly tight, and it's not like the Capitals who are pretty much locked in the 8th seed are going to be a cake walk first round opponent for anyone.

Eh by pts% the current 1-8 matchups would be

FLA v WSH
CAR v PIT
TOR v NYR
BOS v TBL

But it's so close if we did stay in the 3rd spot on any given night any of Tampa, Boston, NYR and Pitt could be in the 6th spot.

Yeah I don't know who will sit out. Maybe they rest up Giordano or Brodie? Seems like a good time in a back to back... but this is a game against a top team so probably not the time to do that.

Based on performance compared to everyone else, Boosh should be the odd man out.

Feel good about chances tonight. Leafs are red hot and up for the big games, Florida I feel like playing 3rd in 4 back home after the first two on the road sitting on a team coming in for the b2b is set up for a trap game.

No complaints with how Keefe is handling the goalie situation for this back-to-back. Starting the best option for that first game made even more sense with neither game being a shoo-in. The blueline situation for tonight should be interesting as there are a few ways in which it can go. That really is a good thing, even if it appears to be otherwise.

Florida had to have a huge come back in the NJ game, had a hard time holding off Buffalo the next night, plus before that had a tough game against MTL (7-4), and aside from them shutting out Chicago after that 7-4 game, the Leafs beat them, and then two really close games against OTT (were down 3-0 and came back) and MTL before the loss to our Leafs.

Now......of course the Leafs found ways to lose to MTL and BUF twice recently as well, but the point I am making is these teams are weak defensively and Florida had to come from behind a lot, and that might not be an easy task against the Leafs (rested or not).

Should be a dandy tonight!

Problem with that is from recent memory, Everytime we have tried to go 11/7 we haven’t looked very good.

It's worth a shot, we have 8 caliber NHL defenseman when Sandin is back imo. Can't think of a time where we had a defense like this.

Our 4th line options are kind of slumping so imo trying this is atleast worth a shot.

Keefe did it once and said never again.

You end up putting the D through a permanent blender all night. That's not a good thing.

I think the D-man to come out for Muzzen should be whom ever is banged up the most. We don't know who that is. The is the luxury of having more than 6 NHL d-man
