Might as well start this one up considering it’s midnight ET.

Tomorrow is going to be a tough game but winning in regulation opens up a small but real chance of finishing 1st in the division and possibly the East and facing easily the weakest playoff team by far in Washington.

Losing all but shuts that door. Hoping we at least get a point out of this with Kallgren in net.

If he keeps it down to 3-4 goals, we have a shot given that we’re averaging 6 over the past 5 games.

For me if they compete but their legs give in after the 2nd or 3rd I can live with that

More than the result I just want an earnest effort

If willy plays he’s gotta be dynamite tmrw

Was surprised to see this:

#1C Point vs Toronto D

1. Gio 6:49, 33.4xgf%
2. Lilly 6:18, 27.7xgf%

3. Brodie 4:49, 44.7xgf%
4. Holl 4:25, 41.1xgf%

5. Rielly 3:49, 64.2xgf%
6. Boosh 2:49, 75.6xgf%

So it was actually the Gio-Lilly pair that had the bulk of the top line matchup....and they crushed it, dominating TB's 1st line.

Meanwhile Mo-Boosh were sheltered away from that matchup as much as possible, and good thing they were because they got crushed by it.

It'll be very interesting to see which D comes out for Muzz tomorrow. For me there's only one choice but I'm worried Keefe won't make it.

There's no reason for any team to not win on a B2B regardless of opponent. The Leafs seem to make way too much of this issue and it is one those "rent-free" kind of things in their heads.

Hoping they give the kind of effort the Minnesota Wild gave on their last two B2Bs...they beat the Avs on a B2B at home, and then crushed the Caps on the road, 5-1, after beating Carolina. You want to be great, you do things like that.

Nylander should be fresh and provide a spark assuming he's healthy. Team isn't likely to replicate what we saw in Tampa especially with Kallgren in net.

I think we're going to see from the Leafs why the league doesn't schedule B2Bs in the playoffs.

Kinda sucks that they are likely going to sit Lilly for Muzzin.
If that's the decision it's the wrong one. You're better off playing 7D and taking 3-4 minutes away from each of Rielly/Brodie/Holl/Boosh than sitting Liljegren.

I think our only hope would be that Keefe really does want to try Muzzin/Boosh as a shutdown pair which would lead to:

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Boosh
Gio-Liljegren

But Holl has been playing 22 minutes lately and huge PK minutes so I doubt he comes out.

If there is one guy who comes out, it's likely Boosh. Liljegren playing a regular role on the PK today over him might be a good sign but we'll see.

Looking at @zeke stats above pulling Liljegren out of the lineup would be a big mistake

If he and Gio can do that against Point it's time to up the competition to see just what they are capable of together

do it again, hopefully Matthews can bag a couple more and the boys can pull this out in regulation., Ekblad will be out, Nutivaara is out and Hornqvist is out, and Noel Acciari is out

They are a great team but there are some pieces out of the lineup

I'm hoping they can pull but I will say the roookie is in net tomorrow and that has me concerned

Hope we start Jack again. Couple big wins against two of the main contenders is exactly what the doctor ordered.

What has gotten into Engvall? Is he turning into a player?

Interested to see Muzzin, have to afford him a few chances now. Are Gio-Brodie playing together tonight?

Panther fan coming in peace, woke up early and don't have to go to work yet. Ekblad & Hornqvist are the only two regulars out. Nutivaara hasn't played a game for what seems like 2 years now and Acciari is swapped in and out of the roster accordingly.

We shouldn't underestimate this team, they are at the top of the league for a reason. It's a back-to-back night, we should take it steady.

Also knowing Gudas... He'll do some shenanigans lol. Hopefully the boys show up and is calm.

It's too bad Muzz can't play right side, he'd practically be a significant & hugely upgraded Lyubushkin to Rielly while keeping Brodie-Holl & Gio-Lily.

I'm guessing:

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Liljegren
Muzzin-Holl

Holl's playing well again, if Muzz-Holl somehow return to form with easier usage then this D group looks dynamite.

I think they’ll need another 6 tonight to take this one.
