Fair points, but if you're hoping to use him with success you're going to have to get him some minutes to acclimate. He's probably dealing with a head that's spinning like a top after the whirlwind he's been through this week.

I’d say he’s given us an average Lafferty type game. There have been with some miscues with the puck here and there, some chaos trying to clear the zone but great board work and some enthusiastic rush chances with the puck and one on one.

He looks like he can provide an energy shift. Not sure about “responsibilities” though.

Knies is in his first game after plenty of travel and playing, and, he is playing on the road against a good, hungry team desperate to make the playoffs.

All he needs to do is play smart and aclimatize himself to the league at this point. One notch under his belt. That is all.

He played half of the season injured. I'd say it's quite impressive, especially as his two-way game has been in the 99th percentile as well.

I didn't say that to insult him, but the majority of players that is a great season. Just shows how good he is to do that while playing hurt.

Are we watching the same game? He looks good for the first game with zero practice.

I'm not penciling him in yet for the playoff after 2 periods, but I don't think he looks out of place.

Because he had some leverage as a college player. Signing him now gives us depth for the playoffs anyway. No team goes on a long playoff run with running into injuries.

Also I’m not 100% sure on this but I believe that only playing 2-3 games this season mean he won’t have enough roster time to be eligible for an offer sheet when his 3 year deal ends. So he won’t have much leverage on his next deal
