3 weeks in a row with back to backs and and 4 total already and now they get quite a bit of rest the rest of the month. Only 5 games in like the next 17 days. I guess Matthews injury came at a good time because it gives him plenty of time to get fully healthy too without missing too many games.

Think the Caps are regretting those empty net chances. Trying to be unselfish likely cost the Caps a win. Great comeback. Still too many non event players in the forward group.

I was in disbelief that the Leafs actually got the the first two challenges. Didn’t know how to feel. Came back to reality real quick on the 2 disallowed goals. Must have got a call from Bettman reminding them that’s not how’s it’s done around here.

We have two goalies in the top 28 save%: Stolarz #7 with .930, Woll #28 with .905
We have two goalies in the top 10 GAA: Stolarz #2 with 2.11, Woll tied #8 with 2.27
Shots against/game played, we're sitting 15th best with 28.6
Stolarz, 2.5 mill against the cap, tied for 45th highest cap hit in the league.
Woll, 766,667 thousand against the cap, below the tied for 87th and last offered place on Spotrac

We're getting some serious value goaltending right now.

Top 6 forwards show up, bottom 6, eh... In some serious need of middle 6 scoring. Thought D-core played well again and Woll was solid, don't really blame him for the 1st or 3rd goal, then shut the door in the 3rd.

It's funny what good special teams can do for you, 6th in the league in PK and 12th in the league on the powerplay.

I am a vikings fan and the Gun slinger Darnold threw 3 picks and we somehow won, but it was against Mac Jones and the Jags, different circumstances for sure lol
Great to see we have quite a few Vikings fans in here. I’ve been a fan since the Purple People Eaters of the 70’s. The team was known for winning everything but a Super Bowl with great teams. Being a Leafs and Vikings fan is tough, great teams but can’t win the big one.

None of them deserve to be in the HOF like Mogilny. The fact that he has been shunned is a travesty.

Looooovvveed Moligny. It is a travesty.

Went from hating Leaf killer Mogilny with the Devils to loving him in the blink of an eye when Quinn (peace be with him) got him as a UFA.

Just a brilliant turnaround: bring in the guy who kills you all the time and let him kill everyone else.

Quinn was a genius….

@LeafSteel
When your worst enemy becomes your best friend in the span of a year! :😅( Almo mogilny moving from new Jersey yo Toronto)

He was so clutch in the playoffs for the Leafs during his three full seasons here. He wasn’t a regular season only player or garbage time compiler- in the postseason, he really made his mark when it counted. A true gamebreaker with talent, skill, character and hatred of losing in his veins. He didn’t play for Toronto that long but he left us so many unforgettable memories.

He scored twice in game 7 against the islanders( including the empty netter that clinched the series for us )

Scored the game winning goal in game 6 of the second round against Ottawa that kept the leafs season alive and forced a deciding game 7 back in T.O

Scored the first two goals in game 7 of the second round against ottawa (3-0 win, Bryan McCabe scored the dagger with less than 6 minutes remaining in the game and broke the sens souls for good )

He scored in Game 1 of the hurricanes series(2002 ECF)

Unfortunately many Leafs fans only remember about his sloppy giveaway along the boards that got intercepted by Josef vasicek behind the net. Then Vacisek made the pass to Gélinas who was in the front of the net and the latter scored on Cujo and eliminated the Leafs in game 6 of the 2002 ECF. But without his clutch time heroics, the leafs would never have went this far.

He had a Hat trick in game 1 of the 2003 flyers /leafs first round playoff series.

And in 2002-03 he was Toronto’s leading scorer, the only time during the sundin era that a forward other than sundin led the Maple Leafs in scoring(both in goals and assists) by the way, he was also the Leafs playoff leading scorer.

He had two clutch assists in the 3rd period of game 6 of the 2004 second round series against philly. Flyers led 2-0 for two periods until the midway point of the third, that’s when the leafs rallied and came back to tie the game and force overtime with goals from Karel Pilar And Mats Sundin. mogilny had two passes on both goals. He was involved in both scoring plays. Look at the game’s scoreboard. Unfortunately it was not enough because in the first overtime session, Jeremy roenick scored on a 2 on 1 with Tony Amonte to send Philly to the conference finals. No one knew that night that it would be the last Leafs playoff game in the second round for nearly two decades.

Really liked Berube's post game interview. Thought he might focus on the negative a bit, but he didn't, praised several players and the team overall. Basically said the two disallowed goals were ridiculous.

Guys, you have to stop 'crying wolf' all the time. If you blame the refs for everything, nobody pays attention when you point out a real mistake.

At least save the whining for when we lose.

Actually, all four reviews ended in the right calls, and the vitriol only makes you look foolish.

(Of the four reviews, the goalie interference one was the closest to going the other way.)

I think Berube was yelling at the refs more than the players tonight.

Great work by JT on the Knies goal. Great work by Knies on the Nylander goal. Great pass by Mo on the Marner goal. Great save by Woll on the JT goal. Lovely finish on all four.

Good hard backcheck by Willy to prevent an EN goal.

LOL, just woke up to see they won. Guess I should have toughed that one out. I stopped even checking on the score with about 5 or 6 minutes left.

The rets were thinking about calling back the JT goal…

They’re like, nah, that might be too obvious.

It's crazy how Tavares just continues to score and put up points in spite of how many people across the league and in Leafs nation crap on the guy.

Definitely the most underappreciated goal scorer of his generation, guy's a better scorer than Kessel or Kane (in terms of goals per game production) and will end up as a Top 50 goal scorer of all time.
As one of his biggest critics i think It is realy great to see him right now. Even with Nylander (they have realy sucked together in the past loooong stretches). But as soon as they suck again i want them to get different teammates. When Matthews is back that is.

The Lorentz one I agree. Clearly kneeing the puck in. Knies was not a high stick.

Anyway. Good win overcoming adversity. I really like that. Team worked hard all night. Ek-Larsson is an underrated addition.

Tavares is having a good year and Nylander keeps on scoring.

This game showed alot about our team in a good way.
Last yr when things didn't go right we would crumble.
This game 2 disallowed goals which should have been goals but we kept our foot on the gas peddle.
Berube kept throwing the big boys out there in the 3rd period willy the most minutes I believe.
The core was good.
McMann one of his best games this season.
Steeves really good game
We had alot of players going to the net
Knies grat game
Woll was solid.
Hakkanpa really loved his game

Boys put this in your memory bank for the playoffs
