McDavid is the only bright spot that franchise has had in the past 10+ years. If he’s not the best player in the league, then they have nothing so they live and die by him.

They’re threatened that Matthews is closing the gap. It’s pretty pathetic how many of the fans are, but I guess they really have nothing else to cheer for so I figure it’s best to ignore them in any case.

if you have ever worked in alberta doesn't matter if it was industrial or any other profession they have a utter distaste for the leafs . i lived through the razzing at the sites from mid 90s to the glimmer of hope that started another decade of laughter. (ie the first game 7 )

It's easy to ignore his mistakes when he is scoring. But if you forecheck him hard, he folds in his own end. The exact opposite thing we needed. Give him space he is great. Watch what happens tonight if the Leafs bring their game and forecheck him. Watch how many pucks he will give up to us.

That's fair. But it's exactly what we needed, we had plenty of shutdown defensemen that couldn't move the puck. Barrie gives our defence core balance whereas he may not have fit with the Leafs. Good luck tonight.

Yup. I'm on record many times saying the fit is there for you. Brodie fits better here for us. Good luck tonight as well but not too much luck.

Oh give me a break. You would think there would be some level of confidence that would come with having the best hockey player in the world. Instead the only thing I see is a ridiculous amount of insecurity to the point of needing to seek out literally any piece of media that isn't fondling McDavid by the balls.

Matthews out, Muzzin in, Thornton in, Campbell active ? Everyone needs to step up, Oilers are playing with confidence, need a big game from JT tonight.

I was on site in Fort Mac to enjoy the Leafs collapse in 2013. Was so much fun lol.
 
It's odd that Oilers fans are allowed to post in our GDT. Seems like Leafs fans aren't afforded the same luxury.

Anyways - Marner and Tavares are reunited tonight. If Marner can spark Tavares, it might be time to put them back together and put Matthews back with Willy.

Matthews and Marner are dynamite together but the team is so much better off with two lines firing on all cylinders rather than one.

It's always been that way. Our mods are way more chill generally and don't have a stick up their ass. When Leaf fans ever venture onto another team's board, especially other Canadian teams and the Bruins board, it's almost an immediate infraction.

I don’t care that Oilers fans come here because Leafs fans in general are just chill about this stuff.

Problem is, outside of the GTHA people actually legitimately hate everything Toronto(except our basketball and baseball team for some reason...)

So any time any of us post there it’s automatically reported, they have simple minds like that.

If you ever check out their out of town threads, the amount Oiler fans discuss Matthews you’d think he plays for their team lol
