Not opposed to Reaves, but would rather have Lucic, (better skater, scorer) saying that adding players like this doesn't fix the problem. Having one of Martin, Simmonds, Clifford, Foligno won't change team dynamics, you need the whole team playing like the Vegas Cup champs. They have to buy into physical, hard working play. It's like Leafs management never watches the Stanley Cup finals and build teams like them. They'd rather build the regular season Harlem Globetrotters. Shanahan must hate players like himself. It makes no sense.

Fantastic. We apparently will sign a useless tough guy plug, but somehow can’t sign the useful physicality of Schenn and Aciarri. Some dude taking a roster spot, and playing 6-8 minutes a game, is not going to be any deterrent, when he’s on the bench when it counts. You need toughness throughout the lineup and that toughness needs to be able to play. Stupid.

Marner for Brady Tkachuk is my fantasy move, but there is no way Ottawa would go for that. Just further goes to show what a bad contract Marner was.


Crouse and Auston Watson are two physical wingers is like to pursue. I also like Max Domi. Hopefully Knies can be a top 6 power forward for us.


Bottom line is that we need to add physicality to the top 6, there's no question.

Marner for Brady tkachuk straight up would be embarrassing, 1st + Tkachuk would be fair value.
