Some are really slow to get into.
Most are dark and horror like, but Eyes of the Dragon is closer to fantasy like Tolkein. Has a wizard and kings and obviously a dragon.
His Dark Tower series is amazing for the first 3 books. Starts going downhill a bit after that. Still a good way to kill lots and lots of hours. 7 books in all.

Yup. Not as bad as KC still though. I think they had 21 total offensive yards half way through the 3rd quarter or something
