This was a huge issue for me when I was a teen. After my cousin committed suicide I questioned a lot of things. I questioned even more when I lost my Dad at 17.

Nothing Wrong with Questions. Just be prepared for the impact of the answers.

Wow that's really hardcore, I believed in it until I took world religions and then I started questioning how could all these hundred something religions all be right. the morals of the religion are fine, it's just when they start talking about different gods, resurrecting people, angels and all that other fairy tale stuff is what I don't believe in at all.

My problem is with some all powerful being giveing two ***** about what I do on a day to day basis.

It's best to just keep these things to yourself, particularly your religious beliefs (or lack thereof) and personal politics.

I made the mistake twice, actually.

One started when I refused to eat meat at a family gathering, since you know, I am a vegetarian. I cited this reason multiple times. It turned political when I was asked "why" and stated that I don't view animals as any different than human-beings, and so would not like to participate or be a part of their commercial slaughter.

The second started when we were talking about Hurricane Katrina, and my aunt said something like, "God will take care of them". And then it made me think of the Problem of Evil: If God is omnipotent, beneficent, and omni-present, then why does evil and suffering occurring and on such a frequent basis? I basically stated this...and it did not turn out so well.

It's not worth it to argue your personal philosophies amongst others, particularly when it can harm relationships and deeply offend the other person. Being "right" isn't worth it.

This girl told me she was a vegan.
I'm like: "What's a vegan?"
"It's like a vegetarian but I don't eat dairy."
"So no milk?"
"No"
"No Eggs?" (Hey they are in the Dairy section right!)
"No"
"Too bad. Chicken fetus is good."

She either had to laugh or puke. Thank god(or who ever) she laughed.

Arguing about it is usually a waste of time, but there is nothing wrong with discussing your views with open-minded people.

Finding open minds is the hardest. So many people are so set in their beliefs.

Yeah I try to never bring politics or religion up in conversation unless I'm specifically asked about them, even then I still try to not go deeply into it.

Smart. I should just delete this post. But I won't. I am at that age where "I shouldn't say that" becomes "Aww hell lets see what happens.."

That's what it comes down to. And like you said- people hold onto their philosophies so deeply that it only leads to intense arguments, pretty much every time. It's near impossible to have a civil conversation about it.

Starting with 50 and assuming the odds were 0.50 each time. You would have just under 250,000 after 21 games.
