Wait, you're telling me it doesn't mean you're flirting with me ? :(

I'm not sure he knows you can make conversation with a girl without it being flirting, like when he "got" Seguin's sister phone number

"Can I take your order"

"OMG she's flirting with me"

Boom...There goes the dynamite.

I remember you making a very similar post a few months ago lol.

If they are a true fan, and not just pretending so they can spend more time with you, then how would they stop you from escaping reality? They want to enjoy the game just like you.

I also have more escapes (music, movies etc) so maybe I value my sports watching time less than others.

It pisses me off more when a girl questions why I spend so much time watching sports, or sits down and asks a bunch of stupid questions while I'm trying to focus on the game.

Damn. I thought that post was in the Lady Advice Thread.

That's the thing, when sports is your only escape from reality, where it is just YOU; your OWN thing, then it becomes scary to think that you have to share it with others. With you, sports is not your own thing.

It pisses me off period having to watch the game with another person. Especially baseball. They'll usually go with a common sense opinion like, "Damn Alex Rios got a hit, why'd the Jays get rid of him again?" Or this female I know complaining that the Jays traded Vernon Wells without considering the package they got back or the strategy behind the move. So sad.

I used to watch the Leafs with a few females, and they all loved Bryan McCabe and thought he was a good player, particularly a good d-man. Too funny.

Well it does save you from the one major argument about not spending enough time with her and too much time with your buddies.

That one can be a biggie.

Besides, if she's that cool she'll understand you need a night out with the guys every once in a while.

I think my friends would disown me if I brought a female to watch the game. Or, let her join in on our fantasy sports meetings, particularly when we hold a draft.

Fair enough

That would piss me off too. I can watch a sport with a girl if they actually have a lot of knowledge on it and know when to shut the **** up. Obviously not easy to find.

Even if she is a hardcore fan?

I know a girl that is obsessed with football and joins all those fantasy leagues with the guys and does great in them.

I wonder if this new Bill C-45 affects my University plans.

Without funding I won't be able to afford it and I think it changes some stuff like that.

Is there never a night where you wanted to watch the game but some chick flick is on that the wife wants you to watch?

you'll learn.

Stop right there (the bolded).

Weird. Perhaps I have to reconsider my naive view of women when it comes to sports. What you said is certainly possible, though it seems to be extremely rare.

You are a gentleman and a scholar -- said nobody ever.

Edited for accuracy :)

Just kidding

Anyone here watch Dog Whisperer?

I'm hooked on that show now. It's interesting how different animal psychology is in comparison to human psychology.

Read this blurb on Facebook and it was written by Morgan Freeman. Blew my mind about the stuff in CT. I was thinking all week-end the reason behind everything that happened.. And what he says makes a lot of sense. This man is a just an absolute genius wish more people would listen to him.

TURN OFF THE NEWS.......

Morgan Freeman's brilliant take on what happened yesterday :

"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.

It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."

It's super true. Even producers on television are trying to send this message to people. Shows like Criminal Minds, CSI, etc... They all have their odd episodes where they have the people trying to do it just for the fame. Just for their names to go down in history.. The news outlets don't get it though.. They will continue to put these people on non-stop and make their names go down in history. It's ridiculous.

I agree with what is said in that statement, but, from what I'm reading online, Morgan Freeman did not say it.

NHL 13 is so b/s. SO give the leafs a good ol' fashion firesale. Managed to land Granlund. End up like 30 million dollars below the cap. So what does the game do? Increase my players salaries. Dion Phaneuf now has a 9 million dollar contract. ****ing b/s.

Get to re-study for my exam that cancelled a week ago. Hurray...

Edit: In the last 60 or so hours the leafs board has gained 3,200 more posts than the Habs board. And basically all of that is because of Dickey. Apparently agreed to a contract extension :)
