I can actually have more fun watching Football because it means about 1/100th as much as hockey does.

But I have slowly become a fan of the game.

Yeah I probably wouldn't be too serious about it. Got leafs/marlies and Jays to be serious about It would be nice to watch though. Might watch the next couple of games for fun.

What's the appeal of girls being into sports? Watching the game together?

I would prefer if a girl is not into sports, since sports are my attempt to escape from reality.

Big assignment due tomorrow? Nah, the Jays game is on. Have to start studying? Nah, Liverpool is playing. Avoiding people I would rather not see? Yup. Leafs are playing (well only when playing a team worse than them). Plus, the whole world of fantasy sports.

Combining my only escape from the world + a girl = a scary thought.

I remember you making a very similar post a few months ago lol.

If they are a true fan, and not just pretending so they can spend more time with you, then how would they stop you from escaping reality? They want to enjoy the game just like you.

I also have more escapes (music, movies etc) so maybe I value my sports watching time less than others.

It pisses me off more when a girl questions why I spend so much time watching sports, or sits down and asks a bunch of stupid questions while I'm trying to focus on the game.

Well it does save you from the one major argument about not spending enough time with her and too much time with your buddies.
