I saw within the first 15 minutes they would lose. When they are skating around mindlessly and trying to generate chances that don't escalate into anything is a good indicator how they will perform for the rest of the game. Owell onto the next.

Sure glad I didn’t stay up for the 3rd period.
All I got to say is……..leafs lose to the worst team in the NHL with 10 of their regular players gone.
Pathetic

We expected win'd the heck out of that game. You're going to lose some games you should've won. The big thing is that this doesn't start a bad streak.

The expensive backup continues to be a disappointment. The 2nd goal shouldn't have happened. That was a long cross ice pass that touched the blue ice of the crease. Most NHL goalies aren't so deep that a pass like that can get through. Such a strange goalie: sometimes he comes out way too far, other times he's way too deep.

Cue the over reactions. Unfortunately the best player on the ice was their goalie. It happens. I can’t imagine how some of the posters on here cope in real life.

Well said. If I had to make a top 10 list of worst posts of the year so far, half of them may well be from this thread. Good grief!

Last night I died
Last night I cried
Last night the Leafs were exposed in the worst way
And then I died

Last night I cried
Because the Leafs died
The possession stats were sublime
But Toronto was left sucking on a lime
Last night I died

Last night 2 points were awarded to The Yotes
And then I died
I thought I already cried
Because the season seems to have taken a turn
The Leafs might burn
The Trade Deadline is coming
They better trade for something something
Last night I died

people on here are so weird. It’s just a loss. Every team loses.

Yeah I’m disappointed in the loss but people here overreact and take it to another level and what’s funny is that it’s the same people that say wins and losses don’t matter because if you play well, it all evens out in the end.

Well that’s a game where the Leafs played extremely well but their goalie had other ideas. On another night, this could have been a blowout win for the Leafs.

If I could have the Leafs play every game one way, I would want them playing like they did last night or the early season loss to the Rangers where we absolutely dominated everything only for Shesterkin to steal it.

Shit happens in hockey. Hockey is equal parts luck and talent/skill/determination. The sooner people understand that, the better.

Just watched the game. Leafs dominated. Hit a bunch of posts. Goalie was hot.

they were playing a weak team with a bunch of players out. So they should have dominated.

got beat by a hot goalie. This is why people can’t predict games.

beat vgk when they were outshot. Beat lehner 3 times on 20 shots.

rando goalie In the desert goes full Hasek

Never heard of these guys:
D:
Kolyanchonok
Mayo
Moser
Soderstrom
G:
Vejmelka

Everyone else everyone else should recognize.

They are all / or have been regular NHL players.

That being said, a goaltender is a key part of the team and you don't apologize for having a goaltender help win a game.

Let's wait until near the trade deadline before knowing whether you should be buying a rental.

What was the stat Ray mentioned on the broadcast last night....Teams are 16 - 87 on the second night of road back to backs this year.... Doesn't matter who you are playing it's a tough thing to do.

The team played well and really dominated. The difference was Mrazek was rusty and Vejmelka had a hot game.

I think this one was kind of predictable
But the concerning thing is the sloppiness starting to creep back into their game

Keep Kase in the top 6

soderstrom is a first round pick. He’s pretty damn good

Is Vejmelka this year's Georgiev? I will expect his name to start appearing in the trade/free agent thread from this day on.
