I feel like a guy in his position he would have a couple scraps under his belt this season by now. There's been a few instances where it seemed like the right timing but didn't happen.

I don't think the Blues fought much under Berube either. Could be wrong, tho. Seems like Reaves' role this year is just deterrant rather than energy dude.
I pay for TSN, but no chance I was watching the Sens broadcast (live in the Sens region)... regardless of who was doing the pxp. I streamed a shitty feed and it matched the efffort of the Leafs perfectly.
This is the kind of game you need Matthews. He hasn’t been great this season, but at the end of the day you need game breakers sometimes, especially when the crowd isn’t in it . We’ve only got matthews and Nylander and Nylander couldn’t get it done tonight.

It’s crazy the things people choose to whine about. This place gets so low iq at times.
Terrible effort all around. Goalie was fine, Timmins was pretty good. That’s about it.

On that last PP Nylander twice had the puck down low and not a single Senator within 10 feet of him. So instead of walking right up to the net and getting a great scoring chance he just robotically dishes back to the point to Reilly, and that's the end of that.
That was how tonight felt, they just were doing everything the easy, scripted, playbook way and not once trying to actually impose their will or take a chance. Playing perimeter, by-the-numbers hockey against most teams will turn out like it did tonight.
Hopefully they wake up tomorrow against a competitive team just waiting for them.

Fourth line put in the same effort they always do. It looked worse becase the other clowns put in zero effort in the first 40 minutes. There was a sligh push in the first shift(s) of the third, but that was all.
