Props to Ottawa, they showed up and totally dominated.
This is where you start to really feel the absence of Matthews and us continuing to win without him isn't that sustainable.
We're going to have to make a deal at some point this season to bring in another quality offensive player because our depth doesn't look like it will be good enough.

Goaltending still over .900 tonight which is unbelievable tbh. Stolarz had no support tn. Willy was the direct result of two goals against which sometimes he just has these games.

Worst game of the season, worse than Columbus. When they came out flat to start the second too, I knew it was over and that they were probably getting shut out. The offense is a serious concern, yes Matthews is out but the rest of these guys have been doing nothing at 5v5 and the bottom six is a total black hole that is just there for cardio. Without Stolarz this was probably 5 or 6-0. Stolarz having a good sv% despite letting in 3 tells you everything.

The reason why this team can’t ever win the division, is they don’t have a “B” game that can grind a game out and get it to OT. Mostly either look really good or really bad.

I think this is a side effect of the new style of play that we have to accept. This team never got shut out under Keefe's entire tenure, but that style of play had its own drawbacks. I would rather they get shut out playing responsible than score a meaningless goal or two.
