This lb for lb might be the worst week of Hockey we've seen from a Leaf team post lockout. At least the bad/tanking teams had reason to be as bad as they were, these guys are supposed to be in their prime and they STINK.

Play an atrocious game vs the Pens barely win.
Blow a 2 goal lead in the third vs the worst team in the league.
Get absolutely pumped by the Knights.
Have a 2 goal lead going into the 3rd and blow it again vs the Avs.

At this point nobody should have any expectations of this team, the core itself is so utterly rotten. One last swing for them, but they deserve their failures. Just putrid stuff from top to bottom.

Are you younger than 20? Because this is this biggest load of shit I’ve ever seen. It’s not even remotely close to the worst stretch of hockey. The Horachek collapse was easily worse than this. Hell even the collapse the year before was worse.

Leafs are a top 10 team in the NHL that’s going nowhere? Then just pack it in and ship everyone out like Boston then? Accumulate and draft first rounders that won’t see NHL ice until the next decade?

My preference would have been to stand pat yesterday and lose the way we lose in a more cost effective manner if they’re going to lose. Go as far as you can in the playoffs, and yes, retool in the summer.

As far as Laughton goes, just do a better job. I’m not that interested in the human interest angle and why you look terrible in your debut. I don’t need more excuses for the new guy. Nelson and Coyle were just fine on Colorado.

Everybody knows a team full of AHLers and bad rookies is going to lose, we have 4 guys in the top 10 in NHL salary getting absolutely demolished and humiliated out there.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are not a cup contender so I think that’s the frustrating first and foremost when you see it in action. They’re a pretender that spent their assets as if they were on the cusp.
