they've lost lots of stinkers over the years. last night was another. they all add up, and they are indeed meaningful in the standings. they're the reason why we haven't been in the playoffs in forever.

i don't understand why fans are so willing and happy to accept this.

The biggest reason why we haven't been in a the playoffs is because of the month long slumps we've had at starts, ends of middle of seasons. We didn't know when it would happen exactly, but we had a feeling it was just a matter of time. I don't necessarily get the same impression atm. As long as they can avoid week(s) of crappy player, they should be fine.

What's the alternative?

Keep Gus for another year, grabbed Vokoun a little ago, there were things that could have been done. Gus did not have to go worst move, he let the odd stinker in but no need be driven out of town.

Everyone's in a panic. Defence this, player that.
The blowout game was caused by Ben'the bed crapper' letting in pathetic goals.
We had good momentum in the first and then Bed crapper gave it to the other team.
Now because of Bed crapper the whole team is in the dog house.

TAKE KOSTKA OUT OF THE PP! He's pissing me off. There is no reason he should be there ahead of Liles/Gardiner.

NO REASON AT ALL.

Gardiner is a little rusty if you hadn't noticed and JM is on the 2nd unit, the job is Gardiners when he's ready to go cent per cent

Excellent 1st.

Bad 2nd.

Disasterous 3rd.

Get Kostka off the 1st PP unit. He can't handle Kessel's gifts.

Get Franson back in the press box. Komisarek was much better.

Kessel can throw the puck over to Kostka a million times and if there's no shot 999,999 times the coach instructs you to move the puck around, if theres a sliver of light then you shoot, not even Bobby Orr shot into a maze of legs. Nobody especially in todays NHL with the high guy in a block position takes that shot, that ends up in a partial or clean break for the opposition

This had nothing to do with the fans. Not sure why you quoted me.

He was the worst Leaf goaltender post-lockout. Raycroft, Giguere, Toskala, Aubin, Tellqvist, Belfour, Joseph, even Martin Gerber were all better than him.

No way toskala was better than him, no way.

They were all bad, Gus at or near the top of the list.

this game turned quickly.

awesome first period, but then the whole team and the goaltending went to hell. Guess it's harder than we thought to break the bad habits. Being on the backend of the first back-to-back of the season probably didn't help, though, just like it didn't help PIT the night before.

Hard not to think we would have fared better with Reims in net, but that's still a game we should win.
