lmao these guys have Darren Helm on their club in the year 2022

Our depth is as good as theirs. Colorado is elite but it's hilarious that people are using this game as the indication they're unstoppable while we suck. We're on a 20-4-2 stretch. Take a breath

Lol, I'm not on tilt in the least. There is no question they are the deeper team. It's silly to suggest otherwise. There is no shame in that. Kadri and Mackinnon are on ridiculously good deals.

Mackinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Kadri, Burakovski, Nichushskin, Makar, Girard, Johnson, Bowen, Toews, Newhook.

Come on my dude, that's a filthy group, that includes one player (Johnson) north of 30 years old.

The only thing the Leafs have that the Avalanche don't is an elite goalie. We got outshot 50/25 tonight. It's ok to admit the Avalanche are really deep and talented. Certainly beatable, but deeper than the Leafs, a fact magnified when we have a couple regulars out of the lineup.

Honestly the penalties tonight reflect the Leagues attitudes to the two teams that played. Leafs will always be a draw so despite the fact that the league so desperately needs our gate revenue that they’ll push back our home games till COVID calms down we’ll get no love from the refs against the American teams. Especially league darlings in the Avalanche.

Imagine if Justin Holl was good at his job didn't stare at the puck like an idiot, and attempted to go get it the 2nd goal would not have happened and we'd be talking about a win.

But Justin Holl is an idiot and he did stare at the puck and did not attempt to go get it and the 2nd goal did happen and we are talking about a loss.

and before anyone says "he thought there was a penalty." because I know that's the response.

So what? We have a top 10 PK that went 4 for 4

Go get the puck

The Leafs need to improve on Holl, no question.

Won't be popular because Jack's been great all year but he's not even looking at the puck on the 4th goal he's not paying attention to Rantanen at all.

WTF was he doing?

you should probably get the trade right, it was not Kadri for Brodie, leaf fan would of never posted a trade that does not exist

Hah, oh crap I quoted him, yes it was Kadri for Barrie.

The point I was making still stands though (we have Brodie for 2 more years)

But yeah now I'm embarrassed. Dur.

Fair enough. Obviously I’m bias the other way and will have a different perspective than you guys, but I thought there were missed calls both ways with the Brodie penalty being the major outlier of bad calls.

Thanks for the feedback without chewing my head off, hope to see the two teams in the finals! (Although my dad and I might not talk for a month after if that happens )

You don’t get to have a 4-1 advantage in penalty calls and get to complain about how the refs missed things.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot - Tavares - Nylander
Mikehyev - Kampf - Kase
Engvall
- Spezza - Simmonds

The bolded being out drastically changed how Sheldon coached this game. With them in our line up is significantly deeper than it was tonight. And they needed 4 Powerplays and 3 on 3 OT to beat us by 1.

They had like 18 shots on their powerplays. 4-1 powerplay advantage is rare in the playoffs.

They went 0/4 on the powerplay. Their powerplay had zero outcome on the game.

Dominated is a weird word when they were the worse team for over half the game
I meant like dominated for the last 20. Campbell had a great game before that, and a good game after that. He wasn’t the reason we lost, our team just couldn’t keep up for the last 20

Kind of expected with the layoff and the terrible reffing, hard to get momentum in that game

Tavares didn’t do much tonight at all. That certainly did not help.

I am sure he will be the first one to say his game wasn't up to his standards. He normally bounces back pretty good after bad games.

Anyways, we don't play till Tuesday, Marner/Engvall and hopefully Kase should be back for that game against Vegas.

Numbers have been bouncing around with some scoring error catch ups...but it's finally settled jn.

Leafs at 57.5xgf% at evens this game.

Laughable refs letting Matthews get mauled all game with no calls.

He's anticipating the wrap around coming out the other side.

TBH that set up by Rantanen was filthy. Such a quick, subtle pass .. That's really hard to track. I won't blame Campbell on that one.

I’m just hoping they learn from this and rebound against Vegas, can’t let this become a losing streak or anything

Their 4 powerplays were the only reason we were outshot so bad. And it tired our guys out, and gives 34 less ice time.

3 on 3 is a crapshoot and without Marner they have the advantage after we run 34-88

missing marner is f***ing huge the more i look at it lol
