The Avs had 75+ Shot attempts and what 47 shots? Not on Campbell, defending in front of him let him down on multiple occasions.

He'd be the last person i blame, but to say you deserved to win you gotta allow less than 5 goals. He faced a lot of shots but also got a lot of goal support so it's not like he had to pitch a shutout.

Refs 5 Leafs 4.
You can’t blame the refs on this one. The Leafs were outclassed and dominated in the second and third. They were not even in the game. They sat back and let McKinnon run circles around them. There was no offensive zone time at all.

What was so exciting about it? The part where Leafs got outshot 50 to 25, 20 to 5 in the third period? It was exciting in the first period until the Leafs decided to mail it in.

I guess I watched a different game. I found it very intense and it sucks we lost. We probably win despite how many SOG the Avs had if the refs were a little better.

But the crowd was having a blast and that probably spurred the refs on in their favour.

It was fast and skilled, I enjoyed the game, obviously didn't like the result but won't lose any sleep over it. We can't win 'em all (though until tonight its felt like we can)

Leafs are friggin' good this year. Every team blows at least a couple games a season.

I see the TML similar team when we played against Bruins in postseason years ago. Was Freddy Anderson/ Reimer at fault? probably not, I saw Anderson like a wall in Canes.

That's the difference between a bunch of guys getting underpaid / reasonably paid (Kadri 4.5, Mackinnon 6.3, Makar 9.0, Landeskog 9.0, Makar 9.2) vs a team with guys getting paid at a super premium level (Matthews 11.2, Tavares 11.0, Marner 10.8) and one of the. Not even on the ice tonight.

Depth matters. Colorado has a ton of it because they have some guys on absolute steals for contracts.
lmao these guys have Darren Helm on their club in the year 2022

Our depth is as good as theirs. Colorado is elite but it's hilarious that people are using this game as the indication they're unstoppable while we suck. We're on a 20-4-2 stretch. Take a breath

Shot Attempts were dead even at even strength. (Chances favored the leafs).

But yes, avs got more PPs for no good reason.

They were actually 7-2-1 in their last ten games in Denver, including this game. You guys are really overreacting.

Although it really didn’t matter, Keefe also refused to call a timeout after the Avs tied it or even after they had the late PP. Does he get a prize if he saves them up throughout the year?

I was thinking a timeout would have been a good idea there.

I don't get why coaches rarely use them in those situations. I get that they're saving it to draw up some last minute play but f*** that.

Most coaches choose to let it just go on for some reason.

Team got dominated, 50 shots given up…………….. Campbell played well enough to win

nylander Tavares were invisible, they did not contribute today, we needed them to if we were to win

keefe made a big mistake on the 4-4 goal, idk why the fourth line even got looked at to touch the ice when it became 4-3 let alone be on the ice to give the puck away to the other team to let them tie it up. That’s just a bad call

Matty was good, didn’t see the OT goal but he still played a solid game, as did his line

third line was meh

Rielly - Brodie we’re alright
Dermott should be sat next game he was horrific IMO. Insert Liljegren on bottom pairing
Holl wasn’t that bad I liked his game as a whole

Reset against Vegas and don’t let this thing turn into a streak

Leafs were dominated by a much, much, MUCH superior team in every facet. This is the difference between a first round failure and a Stanley Cup contender, Avs are a contender, the Leafs are not.

Pure embarrassment from top to bottom. Pathetic effort. Outshot over 20 to 5 in the third, gave up over 50 shots. Avs are superior to Toronto.

The Leafs have to own this loss by coasting in the 3ed.

But also worth remembering the Leafs absolutely destroyed the Avs 8-3 just a few weeks ago. I'm not so sure I'd agree the Avs are built better....

Besides from the Brodie call (which was quite obviously a terrible call), what other calls did you guys disagree with?

The Ritchie call was iffy .. The Av's player was running a pick interference play on him and Ritchie just went through him to the puck carrier.

Also noticed a couple of trips that weren't called in the third.

I don’t think Avs dominated as shots suggested but the Leafs did take the foot off the gas somewhat and were not aided by those weird cheap calls the Avs always seem to get. Imagine a momentum difference when Nylander getting sent air borne in the neutral zone or Matthews repeatedly interfered with in the offensive zone are called. Maybe it’s a 4-2 or 4-3 Regulation win.

We also had that point blank shot to win it in OT so we had our opportunities. One thing the Avs have the edge in is the mobility on the blueline. Makar, Toews, Girard and Byram is a nice core defensive group. Usually the way to neutralize that advantage is to forecheck them really hard and hit them early and often as hard as you can. We don’t quite have the personnel for that.

I know game management.

But the Ritchie penalty at Centre Ice with a 4-4 tie.

overplayed by the zebras.

Tonight they were. When they played in Toronto it was a completely different story.
