Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 5-2

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
They don’t have much to work with? They have most of the crucial pieces.

Might want to update your info from the pre-season.

That was always a schedule loss.

If the Preds hire coach Q this summer they’ll be a contender next year. Lots to work with.
Is there really lots to work with. Do you think any coach or GM could get thru to this disgusting core. They play the way they want to when they want to and nothing will ever change that ………ever

Not a great game, or effort…but…
Gotta love this toxic fanbase.

My least fav thing about being a Leaf fan, is the 90% of Leafs fans.

Continue on, whipping your whipping boys.

I agree. The problem is we don't have a proper 3c.

I'd try and give Tavares and Laughton a go. They both play that boring cycle game, and Laughton can play that puck retriever role and feed Tavares in the slot and put McMann with them for speed who can also cycle the puck. Then put Nylander with Domi and Robertson. That line had some success when Matthews was out.

Knies-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Domi-Nylander
Laughton-Tavares-McMann
That 2nd line would get absolutely crushed. Zero defensive awareness between the 3 of them.

re-signing marner is the worst thing they could do.

i guarantee you marner is going to shit the bed like he always does in the playoffs. marner is not playoff material

Marner's best hope in leaving Toronto is to go ride on someone else's coattails to a championship, but he also wants the bag which will likely price him out of any competitive situation.

Nice goal but this guy is the last guy to go into the corners. Likes to hang back and let his line mates do the heavy lifting. He will be roasted if he is signed after another poor playoff performance. He knows it and it is why he gets out of Dodge.

The MoFo cost us Rantanen which would have given this team the change to the core they needed.

I think some team will offer him more, I guess the 8th year is a thing, but pure AAV I think someone pays more than the leafs, just a feeling though, there are a some desperate Gms and owners trying to sell their teams, and save there own asses with cap space to make splash.

The biggest misconception to the Leafs and the 3C conversation is they actually need a surplus 2C playing on the third line to create a mismatch, not a 3C.

Laughton has shown nothing more than a Connor Dewar to this point and doesn't deserve to be in the top 9. His best bet is to go to the 4th and just create energy until he can figure it out.

I really don't think the Leafs will let him leave. I think they will give him the contract that he wants, and he will stay.

You thought they played well? What positives do we have to chat about? Marner scored 2 points in a losing effort? Woll made some stops? PP scored? You are free to post positive thoughts for others to feed off of.

I thought they were absolutely terrioble in the 2nd and 3rd, more so in effort than execution which imo is inexcusable.

So, lets have your positive thoughts in this post game thread in which we are discussing a Leafs loss to a bottomfeeder with a suspect effort.
