Ok, but the disappointment over a hockey game be over when you wake up the next day. It doesn't really have any affect on a person's overall mental health.
I'm really not sure how we got on this subject

That said, I think you're taking my comments way too seriously.

I was merely attempting to illustrate how it's hard to be considered pessimistic about the Leafs' playoff performance when it's already been this bad over the past nearly-a-decade.

After the pandemic, everything was put into perspective. I know such lessons fade with time but I try to remember the hell and fear we all went though, put sports into perspective that's for sure.

That said, they need to win ONE Cup in my lifetime. Why not this year? They have the horses but do they have the drive and desire?
That we were put through.

Tough to say re: drive. Desire? For sure. It’s the will though. And to be clear, I think we’re talking primarily about Matthews at this point. Drive, will, example, leadership - LEADERSHIP is what we need.

Yeah but they want you to know 34 also got an assist. That should make leafs fans happier knowing Matty padded his stats.

In Matthews' defense, I still firmly believe he scored all 3 goals in Game 3. He 100% touched the puck before it went in on the goal they awarded to Knies (and it actually mattered because it looked like Ullmark had a chance at grabbing it). The puck seems to be redirected on the Benoit shot just before it goes in. Most likely reason was it went off Matthews but not definitive.

He would know in both cases but let the other guys enjoy the glory. So maybe give him a break if they gave him a nothing assist.
