I was at the game, and I agree the crowd could have been louder but the leafs were absolutely not helping themselves. They did not show up to this game.

Boston is really pressing them hard on the PK but of course Bozo the Keefe is too incompetent to make any adjustments. So Toronto just keeps giving up shorthanded breakaways and 2-on-1’s.

It's the same shit every series. It's not surprising.

Most fans knew it's going to come down to goaltending and special teams and there getting beat on both. This management needs to look and find a way to get a top goaltender or they will never have success.

Hard to say they didn't show up. They actually played pretty well for the majority of the game.

Same issues though. Special teams and the ability to score the big goal. Not for a lack of effort, and even this year not for a lack of tenacity.

The PK ranks towards the bottom too.

I think the biggest issue may be you got two net front guys (JT and Bert). Duplicate skills, and neither is a great passer. One of them has to go. Domi replaces JT. Bert to bumper. Or put Marner on PP2 and put a 2nd D out. But something has to change. This ain't working the way it is now. And that bump back play is long past it's stale date. I HATE it!

That's the only 2 redeeming qualities of Liljigren.


Before the trade deadline, I was vocal about Toronto going after someone like Oleksiak from Seattle - big right handed defenseman.

He would have been the Luke Schenn of this year.

Luke was far too expensive this year, both to acquire and on his contract, not to mention that Nashville was starting to have playoff aspirations at the time too.

The fact that Brodie is a healthy scratch and Liljigren is playing is a lighthouse-level beacon message from the coaching staff to the management that the team is very flawed at the back end.

But Keefe decides to keep the Matthews' line out for some reason and lets Boston go right back and score the go ahead.

As frustrating as the PP is, they are quite snakebitten this year .. they are doing a better job getting pucks around the net but not many bounces. Still, they need to find a way.
