I don't think he considered that the rocket winner would score 1 goal in 7 games and the leafs assist leader and ice time leader would shit the bed. If they live up to half what was expected from them we win the series pretty easy. That's not really on Dubas. The timid and passive style the leafs have, now that might be on Dubas.

He surrounded 34 with a bunch a usekess plugs. Spezza was the best of them.

Rielly and his feather shots can go too. Need an actual #1 dman with a Shot. Rielly is a bitch and probably hasnt broken 20 mph in his life. Im almost at the end of my rope with Marner, Wanted the Leafs to draft him and they did, year after year he shows up in regular season, but checks out at Game 1 every playoff. Need guys like Scheifele and Point type player who bust their ass off every shift whether its Game 19 of regular season or Game 1 of stanley cup playoffs.

Simmonds was a smart gamble. If he manages to stay healthy, he would have been good. Before his mid-season injury, he worked his way up to the second line. It became clear though, that his body has just broken down too much.

He had Fluked his way into the 2nd line with unsustainable tips on the PP.

Joe on the first line never made sense, and he likely plays his way out of th lineup if not for the JT injury, but he should have been able to hack it as a 12th forward seeing PP time

If that is the case you fire Keefe if in the last game of the season you don't seperate two players who are struggling to play with each other. Was there a single good play between those two for the entire seven games? Matthews and Hyman did decent cycling but then the puck comes to Marner for a dead play. But did Marner to Matthews happen at any point ?

Keefe put faith blindly and stupidly on a top line that should have been split up. Everything should have been attempted to get those two players going. If it hurts their feelings it would have been a lot less bad then blowing a 3 1 series lead.

But I do see Toronto doing something in the offseason that's made to shake the core even if it's not an even trade. Someone is going to move not because the player or players coming back are better, but because everyone on the team will have to adjust to their new environment and become better or find the door.

Idk, depth guys rarely played. Think they averaged like 10 mins a game and it might have been less than that from games 5-7 because we were always behind. Foligno was brought in to bring some grit but was injured the entire series and missed how many games. We try and blame our grit when we lost 2 games because of 2 of our young defenders with bad turnovers in bad areas and then another 1 because of a bad pass in a bad area by Gally.

Marner isn't owed much actual dollars, that'll make him att active and he can draw fans.

Eichel for Marner and cap equalization would be the best move for both teams. Buffalo can't get into playoffs, Marner helps them produce during the regular season, we get Eichel and move JT on the wing. AND pray to god that he can take some heat to make plays come playoffs.
