Leafs probably should’ve had a powerplay or two in the second period, but that still doesn’t excuse their play in the third. Zero urgency against a team playing desperately. Sad.

I'm not saying it's all Freddy's fault but he didn't even inspire much confidence early on in the game before the goals. Looks a bit shaky.

Yes, in the perfect world he could run the 2nd line. But other than the first few games, the 2nd line has been invisible. We know as a fact that Marner/Tavares have good chemistry, and Matthews does damage no matter who he's playing with.

We can't be a 1 line team.

Worst third period of the season. Montreal was the far hungrier team. Brodie not physical at all on that winning goal. Leafs take a beating in front of their net. Should have had Bogosian and Muzzin together. Make their forwards think twice about standing in front of the net.
Hopefully this will be a lesson learned.

Yeah, it's definitely not on the ref that jumped in front of him and forced him to have to change his angle, allowing his man the leeway he needed to get to the puck and throw it out front...

Too bad they sat back too long during the game and didn’t generate more offense. It’s often difficult to turn the engine back on after that and they got beat by two cheesy bounces. The commitment to defense is still pretty impressive to see and Andersen has played very well lately.

Nylander pissed the f*** out of me tonight; soft ass player shies away from hit like a fat kid from a salad.

Price with a f***ing horshoe up his behind didnt help much either.

Bottom Line: Leafs CANNOT play well 5 on 5 when they are checked well. Need more from Tavares and Nylander. 3rd line is a f***ing JOKE (thanks for trading Kadri DUMBASS)

I'm confused because I thought our players were elite at 5v5 so why should it matter if only 1 penalty was called all game? Stop trying to blame the refs for our team not burying some easy chances early in the game and losing 2-1.

This loss is 100% on Keefe. He should have called a T.O after that 1st Habs goal to settle the boys down. Because even Stevie Wonder could see they were out of sorts.

It’s often trouble for a team to go into a defensive posture and then have to turn the offensive engine back on after being more or less off for a period and a half.

Give Montreal credit, they weathered the storm and they played a well coached game without a PP

And that right there inlies the problem.

No team that is on their 3rd game in 4 nights should be credited a win for "Weathering the storm".
