I've been reading for like 7 years that we're getting "goalied." I swear some people just look at shots on goal and draw that conclusion.

The reality is we never seem to make life difficult on the opposition goalie, it's always perimeter and no screens. Easy pickings.

I've said it in the past...rather win by playing sound defensively than outscoring. Not too concerned about the scoring tbh more so the transition and defensive game.

You aren't going to do that with a goaltender allowing 3 on 4.

Also, if you aren't concerned about scoring, you clearly haven't been paying attention to our recent playoff history, this team is way too top heavy.

Dubas spoke about it in his post playoff presser. Mentioned more than a few times nothing was off the table and they were looking to make changes. I definitely believe that is a part of why he is gone. I think he has wanted to trade a core piece for at least two seasons and was not allowed to. I believe that’s where a lot of the animosity between him and Shanny stems from.

Yep, its almost as if people on this board don't watch any other hockey besides the Leafs and think every other team in the league plays like it's the 80s still. There is a reason players like Reeves are barely in the league nowadays.

Tampa, Boston, Vegas are all old school "don't eff with us" teams of alphas. Nothing to do with the '80's. It's still a mans game.

I feel like other years we've had some incredible teams on paper.

This year it just feels like a really poorly constructed team.

I find that odd. This team is the same as last year but instead of Holl we have Klingberg. Instead of Bunting we have Bertuzzi. Instead of Kerfoot we have Domi. Instead of ZAR we have Reaves. Which of those former players would have made a significant difference?

Yeah, I think Sammy needs a break to regain his footing. Hopefully, some time away from the net will give him some time.

Eh... new year don't think about those things for the new season personally, could easily be this year bob doesn't go beast mode and it could be completely someone like Akira from NJD who knows
