They're back to playing this lackadaisical shit that's very hard to watch.

Not just from a hockey perspective, but just boring in general to watch.

TBH I knew this season we were gonna be pretty bad defensively but I hope by the 20-game mark we at least have some improvement as a whole.

Yeah I knew we were going to miss the defensive play of the guys we lost but I’d hoped we would be better than this.

And I hoped we would at least have more offensive depth. 3 goals from the entire lineup outside the core 4 is pathetic

Yep, its almost as if people on this board don't watch any other hockey besides the Leafs and think every other team in the league plays like it's the 80s still. There is a reason players like Reeves are barely in the league nowadays.

They are not losing because of physicality. They are losing because they can't finish and Samsonov couldn't make a save.

Every time the Leafs transition up the ice it looks like they’re worried they left something behind in the defensive zone or want to ask directions where the net is. They just don’t feel confident moving north.

I think he’s played under 5 mins so far and we are on the road. So he’s not getting out there against any of tampas top guys. Who is he gonna kill, Raddysh?

I've said it in the past...rather win by playing sound defensively than outscoring. Not too concerned about the scoring tbh more so the transition and defensive game.

I feel like other years we've had some incredible teams on paper and it's been frustrating as hell watching them choke, have a limited effort.

This year it just feels like a really poorly constructed team.

The Marner, Tavares contracts absolutely buried this team, we'll have another opportunity when JT comes off the books but these next two seasons just seem completely and totally directionless.

We aren't good enough to win a cup, we aren't bad enough to tank. Really terrible spot to be in

I've been reading for like 7 years that we're getting "goalied." I swear some people just look at shots on goal and draw that conclusion.

The reality is we never seem to make life difficult on the opposition goalie, it's always perimeter and no screens. Easy pickings.
