I keep reading in the Around the League thread how bad the Sen’s are, a “tire fire” is a popular theme, but does anyone really believe the Leafs are cup contenders when they can’t beat such a putrid team? Oh, and 88 ain’t worth what he’s asking for, I see his habit of avoiding contact has reared it’s ugly head again, I knew he couldn’t keep up the high level of play to get paid for too long………

I am no Keefe fan, but how is it his fault. Is he supposed to put the goalie pads on himself and make the saves. The Leafs have to worst goaltending in the league. It is literally dog shit.

Tonights game, the team looked LAZY, no f**** given.

Management has never given him a great team, but still, they look like they’re writing the same script as the past few years. A coaching change may wake up the team and get them to play a different style.…….or maybe a big trade.….

Why Marner?

Nylander showed again tonight why he is not in the same stratosphere as Marner.
2 goals against were directly off Nylander gaffes.

He's great offensively, but has no brains out there and doesn't make any sort of defensive effort.

It's absolutely infuriating to watch someone with that body build and skillset, just waste it completely.

I love Marner I don’t want him to be the guy but it feels like he’s the one with the most value. I think he would net your the most return. Got any eat left probably more willing to sign long term with a team compared to Willy.

Just thinking about it objectively. But I agree with you I’d personally move Willy or simply let him walk and start fresh with his cap space.

I can see that happening too. I can also see the Leafs asking Ferris to lead the trade negotiation and find Marner a spot he wants to go to. I think there will be changes.

There is to many holes to fix on this team .
Keep our first till the offseason once we know where our draft position is going to be.

I also want our core 4 to finally show that they really want to do anything it takes to win in the playoffs..

Gibson has been a below average goalie since 2018-19.

I doubt Columbus moves Merzlinkins, and Arizona isn’t far enough out of it to move anyone.

MAF has had us on his NT list in the past.

So, no, I’m not seeing anyone currently available, who would be worth assets.

Gibson isn't a below average goalie he just needs to get off the Ducks, put him on a good team and he becomes John Gibson again.

Columbus is a bottom 5 team, they are in full rebuild mode, I see no reason they wouldn't move Merzlinks given where they are in the standings.

And as for MAF it came out afterward that a deal never got to the point where he was asked to waive but that had he been asked to waive he would have agreed to come, I see no reason that would change now.

Glad I slept through this one. This team is going nowhere if they make the playoffs.

Forwards can get you to the playoffs, but dmen and goaltending gets you through the playoffs.

This team is built wrong. I’d let Marner and Tavares walk and use that $22 million on D and goaltending.

It’s sad that the 2 Canadian local boys are the ones that hurt us the most.

100% but given what they have learned in the playoffs, one would think they would play to avoid a first round matchup with Florida or Boston. They could still win the Atlantic but I do not get it the lack of "give a crap" in some games.

I have never seen a team be more content to make pretty passing plays while on the PP than these Leafs. Shoot the damn puck while creating chaos in front of the net ffs!
