Found a way to win but Tavares has got to be better. Playing with Marner full time again since his first Leaf season and he's got 2 points in his last 7 games, below ppg again. And it's not like Marner isn't producing... For $11 million that's not acceptable.

They need him at his best to go deep. Did he come here to be the star he is or just coast to barely ppg?

It's exactly what happened too. The ref also did his emphatic "both of you" double point like three times. It should have been 5 on 3 for 2 minutes then the other 2 mins 5 on 4. That's what happened on the ice, period.

A lot of weird stuff happened tonight. Murray sucked (for once), ice was awful, Calgary couldn't control their sticks, and both teams were sloppy. Didn't give up much 5 on 5 and PP looked good.

Nylander was absolutely amazing. Well-deserved 5 point night!

He has 3 points in his last 7 games. He had an assist on that Marner goal because he won the draw. So he is still at a PPG.

He is also over 70% on faceoffs in the last 7 games and has had a lot of "3rd assist" moments, so I am not really worried about a few games without points.
