They'll get a 1st + prospect + mid pick. They won't get a 1st + Knies is what I am saying. GMs on the hotseat goes both ways with big swings at rentals. Dubas was rightfully criticized for the price paid for Foligno given how little he was able to contributed.

Actually you said they won't get a top prospect. I'm saying that they very well may prefer a Knies/Neighbours over a late 1st. And it's very probable they do. I agree that they MAY not get a 1st in addition, but the top prospect is very possible.

Leafs are doomed to riot on the streets anyway…. If they lose round 1 dubas prob got to be on chopping block…. Lindholm out of everyone available at least helps mitigate sub par goaltending

Lindholm + stolarz
For

Knies/robertson , villenueve , 1st mrazek
This isn't the year to make a huge futures package due to the quality of goaltending the leafs have currently and the quality of opponent they will face in the 1st round being way higher than normal. Personally no interest in Lindholm as a result especially as there is no way they can resign him

I said they won't get much more than Chiarot/won't get a top tier package.

1st + top prospect? No

Top prospect + mid prospect + 2nd/mid pick? Sure

1st + 2nd/3rd + mid prospect? Sure.

If Dubas is true to his word and does not want to give up his 1st round pick for a rental, I just don't see how he gets Gio. The other alternative would be one of their better prospects which he will want to give up even less. Not sure how Toronto would make it work.

This will end up being a 2nd, dermott and low end prospect.

Especially if Gio actually has his heart set on Toronto.

Dermott will thrive with more of an opportunity in Seattle

And that is a trade that Francis should not make if he can get a better return for Gio elsewhere. Based on previous conversations between Gio and Francis, Gio even said he did not bother giving Francis a list of teams he does NOT want to go to. He knows Francis will do right by him and visa versa.

Not much really surprises me so the above could happen but it would be a bad look for Francis again. If he wants to get the team back on track he cannot should not bend over backwards for players who were on his team for only 60 games.

2nd + Dermott + B prospect is the most I’d offer.
If that gets it done, great. If they are pushing for a 1st I’d rather look elsewhere.

On a good team without playing with a 19 year old Lindholm is a Slavin level player.

We're talking about a playoff rental vs an actual contract...Florida is going for a cup run so why not take the proven playoff commodity especially given the fact he just destroyed the Leafs, Jets and Vegas 8 months ago. Sure, he struggled against Tampa but he'll do better against them with a team like Florida.
Chiarot has looked good/great once in his career, which was last playoffs while playing with Weber. Lindholm has been a better player every single other time. Man people really over value a small sample size don't they. I am not saying Florida should of traded for Lindholm, but Lindholm is a better player.

Leafs Twitter fan page says Giordano wants to play for the leafs.... Shocker.

Leafs should really not be mortgaging any future for this season.
Why not ? We have to give Matthews/Marner the best chance to win, they're having career years, Matthews is playing on a whole new level. It would be a shame to not try. Maybe don't empty the entire farm but we have to give this team the best shot, only thing worse than coming up short is not trying at all. Can't afford to sit around and waste another prime year of our 2 stars.
